Default Drop Da Chalupa!

http://www.zwire.com/site/news.cfm?newsid=2604379&BRD=1699&PAG=461&dept_id=4 6370&rfi=6

Here's an excerpt from this article on the Cav's current
state of affairs that I thought was kind of funny.

Cavs not even worth a chalupa

CLEVELAND -- The 14,584 fans were on the edge of their seats.

The outcome of the game had long since been decided, but there was a more important factor.

''We can't even provide chalupas for the fans,'' Cavaliers coach John Lucas said.

The Cavs, totally inept at home this season, were throttled 115-99 by the Sacramento Kings last night. Cleveland was a scant point shy from its chalupa giveaway when guard Ricky Davis stepped up to the foul line with 20.6 seconds remaining.

He bricked both shots, which caused him to pound on the scorer's table.

The 6-foot-7, 197-pounder wanted to atone for his mistakes on the Cavs' next possession, but he had the ball stolen by Kings guard Mateen Cleaves with 8.6 seconds remaining on a wild drive to the basket.

Boos rang down from the rafters. Fans didn't care that the Cavs fell to 0-3 at home this season and 1-4 overall. They just wanted the tasty morsels from Taco Bell.

Davis, who had 17 points on the night, wasn't amused.

''I wasn't concentrating on that,'' he said. ''If (the fans) had helped us when we were down by eight points, then maybe they would have gotten a chalupa. What do you think of that?''

I wish I could remember the specifics, but there have been other promotions like this chalupa thing, where the fans get a food prize if the team scores a certain number of points or wins.

Failure to "cover" has led to near-riots. Thus I am surprised that anyone is still offering deals like this. Next time, the fans might try to burn the arena down.
