| I hope not but this was not a good performance today. Running game was fine but the passing game was crap (and that was vs a weak secondary And if they give Brees that much good field position, it could get very eagle, very fast

| hopefully they are sharper for the Saints, but, i dunno man... the Defense seemed pretty worn out that 4th quarter tonight.. if they slip like that against the Saints, they are toast. |

| If the sideline reporter was correct and Lito Sheppard has a dislocated elbow, that means he's out and in that case I have a very hard time seeing teh Eagles winning...They'll need to score at least 27 to have a shot at winning imo

| The total is kinda interesting. Based on today Reid might think that they have to run the ball very well, but NO is probably sensing the same thing, so they will gang up on the run (like the Colts did yesterday), so it will probably fall on Garcia's shoulder. IMO the way to beat the Saints D is to go deep on them--but that is not Garcia's strength. Saints front seven is pretty good

| Line at Caesars right now is .. Saints -4.5 O/U 48 vs Eagles Ravens -4 O/U 40.5 vs Colts (opened -3.5) Bears -8.5 O/U 38 vs Hawks Bolts -5.5 O/U 47 vs Pats (opened -4.5) I agree Pete, Eagles secondary played very loose today and gave up too many short passes & screens. To me it didn't look like Garcia had that much time against the NYG pass-rush to consider long balls today so stuck w/the short gainers as high percentage. The Eagles pass-rush tho was very good imo, and pressured Eli allot, so hopefully they'll do the same vs Brees? Eagles are 5-3 this year on the road, and lost to the Saints in NO the one time they played (L 24-27), and that was when McNabb was pitching and the D was pretty healthy. Since the lines keep changing, I think I'll wait an see if Philly goes out to +5 or +5.5 and get them then. Philly was outta sync today and it took them 3Q's to get it together, and by then they were tired, so hopefully the Saints will be outta sync too after sittin a couple weeks. All the shows I've been watching are prettymuch unanimous of Philly being in the SB, and they're probably saying that because of Philly having momentum right now, and playoff experience .. which the Saints aint, but their D is very stingy vs the pass & rush. They did however lose to the Skins & Panthers in their last few games, which were mediocre teams this year. I'm gonna take Philly as the Dog, and think they win outright. Will also be looking to see Blog's take on the game ... he's had a good feel for them lately.

| Eagles in trouble here if Sheperd out. In trouble in Dome anyway. Have them +566 to win NFC and wish they were playing at Chicago next. Saints in dome have too many weapons. Only hope is that JJ throws some great blitzing schemes to rattle Brees in first playoff game but hard to see that happening with all the reverses and short passing game that Saints have to combat rush. Eagles better be ready to score heavy. I think they better get 4 tds+ on O to have a chance as Saints will get their's. JJ's scheming can't make gold out of lead no better how clever. |

| I disagree a bit. These teams already played once this year in New Orleans and while NO jumped out to an early lead, the Eagles made it a game. They intercepted Brees 2 times and Brees didn't throw for over 300 yards. NO didn't rush the ball that well against the Eagles, Duce had 65 yards and Reggie had 25. The teams stats were just about the same. I like the fact that Garcia is playing and I think this helps the Eagles in a couple areas. First, Garcia is a much more accurate passer and this should help the Eagles in time of possession. I tihnk it will be important for the Eagles to run the ball and have some long controlled drives. Also, Garcia has been a bit more protective of the ball than McNabb was this year. He also seems to run the ball a bit more, and picks up first downs. Donovan can do this, but typically chooses to throw the ball. This ought to be a pretty tight game. The loss of Lito will definitely hurt, if he is in fact out this week. But the major question will be can the Eagles put some pressure on Brees and make him make some poor decisions.

| I played the money line on the Eagles with some trepidation, mostly because although I don't think Garcia was as bad as he looked in Cleveland and Detroit(!), I don't he's as good as he's looked for the last 5 weeks, either. You put his stats up against Eli's yesterday and Eli was slightly better everywhere except the INT column, so the "coming back down to earth" process may already have begun. Going life and death with the Giants is NOT impressive, and I think they're in for a long afternoon against the Saints... __________________________________________________ ___________________ The biggest choke in the history of sports, your 2004...NEW...YORK...YANKEES!!! |

| Sheppard Won't Play Against Saints By Associated Press January 8, 2007, 12:15 PM EST PHILADELPHIA -- Eagles Pro Bowl cornerback Lito Sheppard will miss Saturday's second-round playoff game against New Orleans with a dislocated right elbow. Sheppard was injured going for a tackle on a running play in the fourth quarter of Sunday's 23-20 victory over the New York Giants. He was replaced by Rod Hood. William James, who was inactive against the Giants, will take Sheppard's roster spot and join Hood, Sheldon Brown and Joselio Hanson in the secondary. Should the Eagles advance, it's possible Sheppard could return to the lineup. "It's a little tricky," coach Andy Reid said Monday. "This week for sure he won't be back. We'll see down the road, if there is a down the road." Sheppard missed three games with an ankle injury in September, but had six interceptions and earned his second trip to the Pro Bowl. The Eagles already are without five-time Pro Bowl quarterback Donovan McNabb and three-time Pro Bowl defensive end Jevon Kearse. McNabb (knee) went down in Week 11 and Kearse (knee) has been sidelined since Week 2.
