| THE SADDLERS step out in front of the live television cameras as our FA Cup campaign gets underway with a trip to Macclesfield Town on Monday evening (kick-off 8.00pm). Manager, Richard Money will be without defensive duo, Anthony Gerrard and Allan Picken, although both players are said to be making good progress and are set to return to action within the next week or so. Gerrard injured his ankle in training and missed the 1-0 victory over Torquay United, whilst Picken has had his season blighted so far by a niggling knee injury. Otherwise everyone else is fit and available, with Chris Westwood shaking off a sore thigh and Hector Sam allowed to play despite being called up for Trinidad & Tobago's International Friendly in Austria on Wednesday evening. The players spent the weekend preparing for the game at Lilleshall where they took part in training as well as team-bonding activities. Having made it to the FA Cup fourth round last term with victories over Merthyr Tydfil, Yeovil Town and Barnsley before going down 2-1 at Stoke City, we will be looking for a similar run this time around. facupMacclesfield Town go into the game still searching for their first victory of the season. They are yet to win in 17 League games and sit at the foot of the League Two table with just six points to their name. In the Carling Cup they fell at the first hurdle to Leicester City as Stockport County ended their participation in the Johnstone's Paint Trophy at the first round stage. However, the appointment of former Manchester United star, Paul Ince at the end of October has given the club a much-needed boost and whilst two late goals gave him a 3-2 defeat against Mansfield Town in his first game at the helm, they battled out a goalless draw at Wrexham last weekend and were unlucky not to take all three points. It was a similar story when they came to Bescot Stadium in September as they made life extremely difficult for us before going down to a 2-0 defeat thanks to Hector Sam's first goal in a Walsall shirt and a late effort from young Scott Dann. They will be hoping to avoid a repeat of our last FA Cup clash at Moss Rose when The Saddlers, under the guidance of colourful Dane, Jan Sorensen, ran out 7-0 winners back in December 1997. Two goals apiece from Roger Boli, John Hodge and Gary Porter plus an effort from Adrian Viveash gave us one of our most comprehensive victories of all-time against a side who hadn't lost on home soil for well over a year. Last season The Silkmen went out of the FA Cup at the first round stage after losing a replay against Yeovil Town, who went on to face Walsall in the next round, so Paul Ince, an FA Cup winner on two occasions with Manchester United, will be hoping for something better from his first Cup game as manager.

| Playing without top two strikers plus 2 new signings in the lineup surely made them look like crap. Ended up taking a big of the chalk since I needed to kill some time.... I thoughts the teams were reversed, SKY's scoring graph had a bit of red next to Mac and I thought they were in red for the first half LOL At least Millwall managed not to embarass themselves.
