<div class="FTQUOTE"><begin quote>$10 bet looks good now Tigers no longer longshot to win World Series
By Ron Fonger

The bank, the stock market or real estate - none of it was nearly as good an investment as a preseason bet on the Detroit Tigers to win the World Series.

And believe it, said Chris Clark, a handicapper at The Greek Sports Book (www.thegreek.com), there were plenty of people who bet that longshot and now are three wins away from a big payout.

The Tigers' odds to win it all were 105-to-1 when wagering started after last year's World Series in November at Clark's Web site, meaning a $10 bet would have made $1,050.

"Early in the year people like to bet on the longshot," Clark said. No matter the odds, people like the prospect of that "life-changing bet."

Of course, the odds have changed since last year as the Tigers finished with 95 wins and bulled through two rounds of American League playoffs.

Headed into Saturday's first game of the Series, Detroit was a favorite at minus-$220 and St. Louis the underdog at plus-$190, according to The Greek.

That means a Detroit better has to wager $220 to win $100 while a St. Louis better could bet $100 to win $190. Magglio Ordonez -at 61/2-to-1 -is the mostly likely Tiger to win the Series Most Valuable Player award, according to Clark.

"People are enamored with Detroit now," he said. "Detroit has captured the country." </end quote></div>

Tigertown

Flint Journal may be guilty of a crime for interviewing an illegal sportsbook. Frisky needs to be notified. That law is not working so far. Spiros probably got a few more signups thanks to this.

One time I could pass it off as a typo that sneaked through the editor. Twice and this pinhead shows he doesn't know what the hell he is writing about and can't even spell it!

When was this written?

There are currently three other Tigers at lesser odds at Wsex.

Must of been before it started.

Was in today's paper. Apparently Tigertown was 105-1 at Olympic in March. I love it! Congress bans online gambling and a newspaper interviews a book and gives their URL. LMFAO!
