| Here's one of those "two kinds of people" things: 1. Those who have been falsely accused, or have had a loved one falsely accused. 2. Those who haven't, and thus can casually assume an accused person is guilty, who think the cops can't be mistaken, prosecutors can't be malicious, judges can't be corrupt, the system can't fail, etc, and so it's all right to convict without real evidence. The class of people running the media--overwhelmingly middle to upper class white women--and the class of people most important to the mass media--overwhelmingly middle to upper class white women--are also the same class of people least likely to ever be falsely accused of anything. |

| I second what pokerjoe said. Is it comical or something? I watched a show on Fox on Saturday (I think), "In line" or "On line" or something like that. The host of the show fits the profile that pokerjoe described perfectly. But the scary thing is: she is a former prosecutor. And she had another prosecutor on her show. They listened to some 5 year old Karr's phone records, where he talks some nonsense about being able to see through the eyes of the killer. She asked that other prosecutor guy: "So do you believe he may be guilty?" And he replied: "Oh, absolutely. These records are just chilling. And don't forget that S.B.T.C. thing." How can such people even become prosecutors? And what about the media? I listened to another Fox guy, Gibson, I think. Some professor in Boston said that the attention that the media paid to this case was embarrassing. And Gibson explained that it is not only not embarrassing, but it is the most natural thing for the media to do. Why? Because the case involves a child. And there is nothing more important for any parent than to protect his child from pedophiles and therefore everybody wants to learn how a pedophile's mind works. Does it get any more ridiculous than that? |

| Plus there can be no other explanation for America's morbid obsession with pedophilia than that Americans are deeply attracted to the concept of sex with children. Projection, I guess. One night in front of the TV, or just leafing through the ads in almost any magazine is enough to confirm that. Or looking at those god-awful photos of the Ramsey child dressed up like a hooker.
