nothing like stealing a bus, driving to Texas and saying how they are from the Superdome.
have they declared marshall law yet where they can start shooting people. that way the money i am sending to red cross does not get used on the guy with a shopping cart of DVD players? nothing like stealing electronics during a flood........

Dink, you cant possibly justify what is going on down there, these people are not stealing to provide for thier family, they are stealing becasue they can, its like when animals escape for the zoo. dont judge everyone by the worst of the group.they stole a bus to get to houston for help,they didnt fence the bus.cant you put yourself in their place.this is not detroit after the nba playoffs.

good comeback. last time i checked there was not any riots involving the pistons. last riot here was in 84. teenagers burning couches at michigan state was no 84.
im sure they just found a bus in the lost and found. a 20 year old kid drove it all the way just after he finished bus driving school....

it is impossible to read or see this stuff tv and not shake you head how people are acting like animals...

from cnn: One nurse walked outside to get a breath of fresh air. She was robbed at gunpoint. There were National Guard that was around the hospital, but apparently we are told they pulled out in order to help with the prisoner uprising that happened yesterday.

not my call. red cross and everyone set it up for people from the dome. they have already turned other people away due to space, provisions, etc for the number they are se tup for right now. when the bus came in they claimed they were from the dome, etc etc. sure they should get help, but interesting to know where the bus came from since they had their lies about it in order before pulling up.

THURSDAY 12:29 A.M. - CNN: A Harris County judge is now describing an Orleans Parish bus that arrived at Houston's Astrodome late Wednesday night as a "renegade" bus, CNN reports. Astrodome officials were not expecting a caravan of Greyhound buses carrying Superdome evacuees until Thursday

12:35 A.M. - AP: Harris County judge Robert Eckels said that the bus was driven by a young person who found it in New Orleans, picked up a bunch of others and drove it to Houston.

12:38 A.M. - CNN: Two more buses have arrived at Houston's Astrodome. One of the buses, an Sierra Trailways tour bus, has been confirmed by Harris County officials as part of the official caravan from the Superdome. Officials were not able to confirm the status of the other, an Orleans Parish School Bus.

1:06 A.M. - CNN: Officials are confirming that the second Orleans Parish school bus to arrive at Houston's Astrodome was another "renegade bus" and not from the Superdome. The Astrodome will take in refugees from all three buses.

1:08 A.M. - AP: Late Wednesday, Tenet Healthcare Corp. asked Louisiana State Police and the U.S. Coast Guard to help evacuate one of its hospitals in Gretna after a supply truck carrying food, water, medical supplies and pharmaceuticals was held up by gunmen.

"We have to close it down because we can no longer ensure the safety of our patients or our staff in that hospital," Tenet spokesman Steven Campanini said of the 203-bed Meadowcrest Hospital.

He said there were about 350 employees and between 125 to 150 patients inside the hospital, which is not flooded and is functioning.

Shonna Riggs says her forced exodus to Texas from a small town in Louisiana has been "very expensive" and she's not "used to the hustle and bustle" of Houston.

Another Louisiana woman staying in Houston says, "We're all a mess." Hoanne Hobson says she doesn't know what to do next.

They know that rich white Republicans in Washington would just as soon let them die, and that the needs of America-hating Iraqi terrorists come before the needs of Americans. No offense to a lot of these people down there but robbing people and stealing shit to resell is appauling. If you have just been caught in a natural disaster, your home is gone and your kids are tired and wet and you get a shopping cart full of Jordans and a TV instead of water and some food you are a savage piece of shit and you deserve to be gunned down and left to float away.

Not sure where I come out on the bus, if he knew about the plan in Houston he obviously could of waited until he was placed on a bus. Stealing one is just another example of the me, me, me mentality that is making a bad situation 600x's worse. At least he went to Houston but say that was a bus that was gonna be used to transport people anyway and he loaded 10 people on it when the Red Cross would of filled it with 60 or more, he doesn't look like such a saint then.

I know we don't have all the info but I find it hard to fault the guy. I'm glad the 10 people are safe is all.

I think I'm just putting myself in that position and being honest. If I'm stuck and rumours are floating around like they are concerning lawlessness and the dome situation being what it is. I definately take a bus or WHATEVER means if I can (steal) and leave with as many people as I can.

I hope we get more details on this.

Michael, the problem is these people have no way of knowing what is going on....we can sit here and watch the news and read on the internet what is going on, but these people know NOTHING, the police don't even know since their radio batterys have gone dead. They have watched dead bodies float by them, they have heard screaming from people trapped in their attic's, they have been stranded overnight in pitch blackness with no food or water. I never thought I would see the day that our fellow citizens of this country would be referred to as "refugee's", I am sick to my stomach watching what these people are going thru down there.

I understand all that Cleve but regardless of the situation you find yourself in you need to have some basic morals and principles of right and wrong. If your first thought after a natural disaster is to start stealing shit that has no use in a war zone then you are a bad person and you deserve what you get. If you go an get a gun to hold people up to take their water then you area bad person.

Steve, say you and your loved ones are down there in line to get on those busses to be evacuated along with hundreds of others. You are waiting your turn and then you find out that you can't get out because the bus you were suppose to be on was stolen. Do you still think what this guy did was right?

You can't make your own rules whether you are in a disaster or not. There are people that are there to help the people there and that is real obvious so I don't buy the whole they don't know what's going on thing. Maybe the people in their attics don't but people in the Superdome know the plan and being savages is only gonna hamper the efforts of those trying to help. Regardless of their comfort level at the present time they are all seeming to forget one thing, THEY ARE ALIVE and many others aren't. There are thousands of people don't there that can't piss or shower or get a hot meal cause they are DEAD! Perspective people, perspective...
