Default Sick Gambler Would You Accept Money From Me For Your Hockey Picks??

Sickler your Canadian and the best Hockey man on the site by far and know the lines like no other as I have never seen a guy like you see spot bad numbers in Hockey.

Sick Gambler I will give you $500 a week for a service of 7-10 solid plays per week

Is this a deal Sick Gambler??

NO JJ, forget that.. However, i will give you some good sound advice and you can make the picks yourself. Linesmakers will be boosting those totals up this year by 40% or more. But remember one thing, yes, hockey scoring will be up, but not as much as everyone in the world thinks it will. In the beginning, goals might come in bunches because of the rule changes and all, BUT... believe me when i say this, by mid December at the latest, we will be back to totals of 5 again.. Reason being is they said they are going to call penalties on the clutching and grabbing and create more power plays, which would lead to more scoring, however, they say this every year and never can keep up with it and then allow them to continue on the clutching and grabbing.. And most important, just like the trap was invented by Jacques Lemaire, which stopped players from getting in the defensive zone and protected leads in the past, that too will be back.. They say that by elimating the red line, that teams won't be able to do this anymore.. WRONG. i guarantee you like I'm sick gambler that coaches will create a system where when you are up by 2 goals late, they won't be able to comeback, as they will leave 4 guys lined up at their blue line, and 1 guy in the neutral zone standing in front of the net. And before you know it, we will have 2-1 games again in hockey and these new rules to bring more offence will go down the tubes.

So don't think hockey will become high scoring again, because it might at first, but coaches will catch on and make it like it was in the past.. which means, don't be scared with the high totals, bet more unders this year until books catch on and start to adjust their numbers again...

Thanks Sickler

I wonder how shoot outs are going to count toward totals. I hear no more ties

Believe it or not, JJ presents a few valid points here. How will books be offering NHL this year?

60 minutes only?
Totals before shootout?
Shootouts add 1 to the total?

A few rule changes that will spice it up. Way to be sharp, Gold Finger.

There's no official word on that yet and no one still knows, but the logical thing would be... and i am pretty sure this will be the case..

if a game goes to OT, right away, both teams are awarded at least 1 pt.. The losing team in OT gets 1 pt, and the winning team in OT gets the full 2 pts, just like last year..

If a team wins in the regular 5 min OT, then that goes towards 1 goal in OT. So if teams are tied 3-3 in OT and someone scores, it's 4-3 final and total is 7.. but like i said, losing team still gets 1 pt, winning team gets 2 pts.

And if it gets to a shootout, i believe only 1 goal will count towards the total. So if one team scores 3 goals in shootout and one team scores 2 goals in the shootout alone, only one goal will go towards the total.. So if it's 3-3 going into shootout and one teame then scores 3 and other team scores 2 goals in the shootout, then final would be 4-3, not 6-5..

I am pretty sure this is how it will be scored. Any other way does NOT make sense.

A few things, sick. I thought the idea was to eliminate columns in the standings. I really thought the idea was NO ties or 1-pt awards. I thought it was win or lose, you take home the whole prize.

As for totals, soccer historically grades wagers on a 90-minute basis, even if they play OT for playoff purposes. I think 60-minute totals in NHL would have some merit.

No Chucky, the league will award two points to a team that wins in regulation, overtime or the shootout; one point to a team that loses in overtime or the shootout; and no points to a team that loses in regulation

I too don't like the tie for losing in OT or the shootout, but I guess we will see it again this year..
