Default Patriots... Greatest dynasty ever???

Which franchise do you boys think had the best dynasty in NFL history?

Chicago Bears(1940, 41, 43, 46)
Green Bay Packers (1961,62, 65, 66, 67)
Pittsburgh Steelers (1975, 76, 79, 80)
San Fransisco 49ers(1982, 85, 89, 90)
Dallas Cowboys (1993, 94, 96)
New England Patriots(2001, 04, 05)

___

I will go with the Steel Curtain 70's, PITTSBURGH STEELERS, although the Niners of the 80's were explosive and scary as hell with that offence.. And for last place, that's easy, THE PATS.. I don't think they are that dominating at all.

seeing that 4 of those teams won 4 SB's its easy to put them ahead of the Patriots, i think their run is more impressive than that of Dallas'.....whats scary is this whole team is basically coming back, other than the coaches that are leaving, all they have to do is sign Vinatieri (and that will get done)....where do they rank if they run the table again next year?

alot tougher to do it these days. More teams and the salary cap restrictions make for alot more parity.

Think they are much better than the Cowboys-

Brady is head and shoulders better than Aikman-

Dillon is 100X the back Smith ever was-

and who wouldn't take Branch over Irvin?

2000 NFL Draft

Round 3 pick # 65...... Giovanni Carmazzi

Round 5 pick # 163...... Tee Martin

Round 6 pick # 183........Spergon Wynn

Round 6 pick # 199......Tom Brady

The Patriots are a really good team that plays to win and understands how to win(this alone puts them in a league of their own), but what would they be without Tom Brady? One other team says "a what the fukk Michigan is a better football school than Hofstra and SW Texas state combined, lets take Brady" and this Patriots team doesn't even happen.

Almost every other dynasty that has happened gets a star player and then builds around him/them, gets a couple breaks and becomes great. The Patriots get ONE OF THE BEST QB'S EVER because some really stupid fukks still work in some front offices. To the Patriots credit they took the ball and ran with it, but no "dynasty" ever is more of a fluke. They run laps around the rest of the front offices in the NFL and they still needed the Brady miracle for it to happen, the tuck rule for it to happen, Martz for it to happen, the Dillon miracle for it to happen......................................

Sure they've caught alot of breaks but you've got to be good to be lucky and lucky to be good. Bledsoe isn't a half bad QB and they would still have him if not for Brady.

Also I don't believe in the "Dillion miracle", the guy came with luggage and that's why the price was so low. Any team could have had him for a 2nd rounder, only the Pats were willing to stick their necks out and bet that they could work with the guy. It was a huge risk.

Brett, not tougher to do it these days. Great cap and talent management like the Pats and Eagles have are no different from the days of the overspending 49ers, Redskins, and Cowboys. The Steelers were the steroid kings. The Eagles and Pats could meet in the next two or three Super Bowls barring injuries. The NFC is a dog conference and the Pats could remain dominant in the AFC in they are still hungry. You play within the rules and the best will surive. We shall see.

The Patriots deserve massive amounts of kudos for the Dillon deal, not because it was risky, but because they were in position to take advantage of the dumbass Bengals. Huge Risk........................you are kidding right?

What about the best football team ever sick?
The team every good team gets compaired too?
The team that every ex football player talks about when they talk about really great teams?
The Machine.
These Patriots are as close to this team as they come. The Patriots look like a machine and only 1 other football team ever look like a machine to the point that they were even underdogs in a super bowl and won easily.

Just like the Patriots were dogs to the Colts a couple weeks ago. This team wins every important game, Just like the greatest team of all time did. They just beat you at every angle of the game and couldn't be beat.
And just like that team got killed by free agency this Patriot team will lose the same way. Because they will lose their 2 main coaches. It will be hard for them to keep winning now that they got killed by free agency this year.

Dallas was the most dominant team I've ever seen, and that offensive line would swallow up the undersized linebackers of New England, just like they swallowed up every defense they ever faced. They just had an awesome weapon at every position, and have probably 5-6 hall of famers on offense alone.

New England keeps winning, but I don't think they will go down as a really dominant team because of the way they win. I'm not saying that it's right, but watching them squeak by Philly and Carolina as 7 point favorites doesn't inspire me to pick them over a Dallas team that beat Buffalo 53-17, or a San Francisco team that beat Denver 55-10. Those teams didn't just win, they destroyed the other teams (with the exception of the Dallas-San Fran games).
