I get some unbelievable offers from Harrah's. One is to go to a bunch of their properties on their charter. I haven't taken them up on it yet, but pretty cool offer to go to Chicago and New Orleans and Vegas on their dime.

"Harrah's says it doesn't know its customers' incomes. It says it deliberately doesn't try to find out for fear of being accused of preying on people who can't afford to gamble."

This is a great quote. On any given day how many people in all the casinos in the country can't really afford to be there?

80%?

They absolutley prey on the people through the information they collect on them, but they don't want to know their income?

The real problem is that if Harrahs knew how much their customers lost gambling AND how much their customers made per year, Harrahs might lose out to their conscience. They might be accused of preying on people who can't afford to gamble? DUH, it's how the business works.

I love the Harrah's in Laughlin. Will probably try to go this January to Laughlin.

Have not been to the Harrah's in New Orleans but everybody says its fantastic. Good restaurants and services.

Where is the Harrah's in Iowa?? Council Bluffs??

Been to the Harrahs in Topeka, Kansas and it is really nice considering its in Topeka, Kansas.

The Harrahs in Laughlin has about the only decent buffet in the town..............nice cozy liitle sportsbook too. Very good VP and slots in the past also.

Yes, the one in Iowa is in Council Bluffs...........I think, hell, I dont even remember for sure. I know one is an Ameristar, or was. Havent been there in 4-5 years.

I dont care much for downtown New Orleans to be honest........rough area and city.

I have to disagree here. The Harrahs card is really only a gold mine if you are a slots or VP player. If you are a table games player - FUGHEDABOUTIT!

Harrahs has long been known to favor the slot players and hardly pay due attention to table game players. I'd have an easier time of winning the MegaBucks jackpot than getting a buffet comp slip for one from any Harrahs pit boss.

Paranoid- you are not wrong about that. However the key for a table games player at Harrah's is to ask different people for comps. Keep asking differnt shift bosses, hosts, pit bosses and hotel managers. It works but you just got to be a pain in the ass to everyone.

PA,

The next time you're in Vegas, give me a holler. I'll get you that buffet comp.

I've been going to Harrah's for 40 years, when they had only 2 casinos. Reno and Lake Tahoe. They were good then, and they are good now. The sportsbook at Tahoe sucks now, my kitchen is bigger than their book.
