I have yet to experience any buffering with the box.

Like I said a few posts back, you can get one around $40 or $50 on Amazon or ebay that has the 2G 16GB setup. If you don't like it flip it on craigslist or throw it out. Not much to lose the way I see it.

I also found some info online about how to get Kodi on an iPad, I'm gonna give that a try when I have some time. If I can get Kodi on my iPads I'm gonna cancel Netflix.

You can DL Kodi onto a Windows computer pretty easily if you want to mess around with it before you decide on a box. Also really easy to put on a Mac is that's your thing
Mike, my daughter tells me that people that have downloaded Kodi on their phones have had nothing but trouble with them afterwards.

Why do you say you would get rid of Netflix if you can get Kodi on your ipads? I thought the box took care of that and you didn't need Netflix once you got it?

The box takes care of your TV, it can't beam Kodi to your phone or tablet. So since my kids mainly watch Netflix on their ipads, if I can get Kodi on them then I can cancel Netflix because all the shows they watch are available through Kodi so there is no reason to pay for Netflix.

OK,

So now that you have had X96 box for a while, what is your feedback?

Can I ditch cable?

Will my wife be able to watch game of thrones on it?

Will I have access to espn, and fsn etc?

i have had a kodi box for almost 3 months. you can watch any show you want. as for live sports, the sports devil add on is solid. watched the memorial pre cbs feed today no problem. as for the pinko commy bastard espn, i order it thru sling tv september thru january, and then cancel. its a necessary evil i guess if you want to watch football. the red zone channel is also part of the sling deal so its got you fully covered. one of my coworkers took the plunge and ditched his satellite last week. its such a waste of money.

Anal, glad to see you again, hope things are improving,

Kodi X96 is good for anything that's already played: Netflix shows. New movies

-I have had NO success in anything LIVE.

-I have had success in movies that just came out. Kids/wife love it.

LIVE sports or PPV, I would not bank on it.
It actually takes a lot of IT work to get what you want, and I'm just not patient/smart enough for the technical side. I'm sure it's all there, but I just take the free movies and anything on Netflix.

I love having access to just about every movie made and when a movie hits PPV on Direct TV I have already seen it. As far as live sports my sports devil doesn't work at all. But i have it for movies and don't want to depend on it for sports anyway because no way wife will give up ease of DTV vs this box. But I love it. I bought this box for 120 bucks and have watched 1000 dollars of PPV easy.......LOL

Thank you for your feedback. Both of my kids getting married 10 weeks apart in the last year, has killed us financially. My wife doesn't usually let me see her credit card balances, but I saw her sams club visa yesterday. It was at 5k, @ 23.65%. There is no way in hell, I want to be paying someone 23.65% interest. That's flat out stealing. I'm going to pay it off tomorrow, and told her not to run a balance on that thing.

I told her if she has something major she wants to buy, that she isn't going to pay off that month, to use my visa, which isn't great but at least it's at 7.9%.

I need to cut the cord, but she wants to watch game of thrones that starts in July.

Thanks Baller. I lost my mom April 12th, and my dad May 20th. Although, I wasn't on good terms with my father, it still weighs on my brain. Just trying to sort it all out. At times it feels like I have a fog on the brain.

I know you guys are using other boxes and are having a fun time .
But ive been using the streamsmart box or bluebox for a year now its the best thing out there for PPV and sports .
All the apps are already loaded for you all you have to do is maybe run the wizard once a week to update the box .
plenty of movies and live tv
dont need netfix or hulu anymore .
its just a one time fee and your set to cut the cord .
pays for its self really fast .

If you are even a little bit technical or inquisitive I would still suggest you get a $50 X96 box off eBay or Amazon. The technology in what I'm talking about and what Grady is talking about is exactly the same. The only difference is the convenience. If you are able to operate a smart phone and download apps and so forth you can operate an x96 box. Everything you would want is on there, you just need to pull it off the repository if it isn't already preinstalled.

There are tons of Youtube videos showing step by step stuff as well as forum communities just like MW for Kodi tips and tricks you can spend hours reading.

I know for a fact that the x96 box I have can get live sports, can get ESPN, can get PPV I just haven't had time to fuck around with it enough to be able to share that info but I know it's there.

Long story short, if you're lazy get the StreamSmart Grady has, if you are a tinkerer save the money and get the x96 box.

Did a little chatting with some buddies who have boxes and sticks and they told me about Kodi Pro Sports add on for live sports. I haven't tried it yet but if any of you wanted to give it a try and report back here are the instructions on how to pull it down...

From the Kodi main menu, navigate to SYSTEM > File Manager > Add Source

Select None and type the following: Index of / and select Done

Highlight the box underneath Enter a name for this media Source & type fusion

Select OK and go back to your Home Screen

To install the VinMan java files: Select SYSTEM > Add-Ons > Install from zip file > fusion > xbmc-repos > English > repository.podgod-x.x.x.zip

Wait for Add-on enabled notification and then select Install from repository podgod repo > Video Add-Ons > Pro Sport > Install

Wait for Add-on enabled notification
