Default Sergio Santos

Looks like the Jays acquired a real dud with Sergio Santos. The guy makes Charlie Sheen in Major League look good. 2 games, 2 blown saves and a 13 era. Plus I think he has 2 strikes in about 40 pitches. When the Jays got him a lot of people in Chicago were laughing saying the 30 saves last year was a mirage. Looks like they may be right.

I'm not the least bit worried. Bullpen sets up well, Santos will be fine.

If he continues to blow saves either Janzen or Cordero can take over that role. Right now their biggest problem is lack of production by the big bats.

Really? Less than a week into the season we're talking about their biggest problem? When they are ahead of both Boston and NY in the standings?

I didn't say they need to push the panic button. I just said that in the 5 games they've played the big bats are off to a bad start. Fwiw, I think this Jays team has the potential to challenge for the division win. Bautista et al will heat up and if Santos is a dud they'll find a different closer. As a unit the bullpen has been impressive and you can't ignore they set a record for wins in the preseason.

Having money on the Jays as well, I hope we get a lot of poor weather in Toronto to keep that dome closed for as many games as possible.

With the amount of power the Jays have throughout that line up, its a little added home field advantage I find.

Tonight was a big win for the Jays. They really need to step up in divisional games for a shot at post season play this year. That will be the difference.

Not perfect allowing a run but gets the save. Nice comeback win by Jays.
