Default What would the odds be on the Jets if they played Minny or NO in the Super Bowl?

Betting them at +750 or so to win the Super Bowl doesnt make sense to me...

Seems like you can bet them 3/1 this weekend and I am assuming they would be about the same in the Super Bowl if they were to make it. I dont bet futures often but seems like much more value in betting them twice straight up and rolling the money over.

Am I missing something?

TIA

Bucky might be onto something there. IF the Jets take out the Chargers AND colts back to back weeks, they will garner alot more attention. I don't think you can make the Saints or Vikes more than a 3 or 4 point favorite, over a team that has just beaten the 2 best teams in the AFC at that point. The vikes were less than a fg favorite over Dallas, on THEIR HOME FIELD. I suppose if the Saints blowout the vikings by a similar margin as the Cards game, and the Jets win an ugly 16-13 game, perhaps then the Saints would be a 6 point favorite. Perhaps.

How many points would you lay to the Jets if they beat both the chargers and the colts?

I don't think I'd want to give up more than a fg or so.

My Guess:

Saints - 3 1/2
Jets

Vikings -3
Jets

Saints pk (when was the last time we had a "pick" in the superbowl?)
Colts

Colts -4
Vikings

I suppose we have to consider that New Orleans already beat the Jets 24-10 earlier in the season. So that info will sway some bettors to the saints.

So you think if the jets beat both the chargers and the colts, they'll still be a touchdown underdog to the NFC rep?

So then that would end up being about 16/1 or so if you rolled over your bet on The Jets right?

If you mean betting the jets moneyline from here on out, closer to 10 or 11-1

Gump -3.5 would be my guess.

The way the teams perform this weekend would have some affect so hard to get an accurate line.

Or you could have all just jumped on the bandwagon when I announced the Jets were 100-1, and I was trying to get down on them. Ended up getting them at 50-1, but I will take it. Lets go baby!

you would be wise to hedge, eddy, and take your
profits. the moneyline is lower even though the
colts are a far superior team to the chargers.
in addition the colts had a better record playing
in a much tougher division than the chargers.
-300 on the colts is tremendous value, however
you don't strike me as the hedging type even when
it's the correct thing to do.

Hedging is a tough task if you are holding the 7 point dog.

As far as hedging goes, I could probably get better value just taking the Colts to win the Super Bowl right now, and then I could take the dog in the Bowl. However, I really believe the Jets can beat the Colts. The Patriots had the Colts beat, the Jags had the Colts beat, why can't the Jets beat the Colts.

yeah, this is why i don't like them naming 'coach of the year' before the SB.....If the Jets should somehow manage to even make it to the big game, then Ryan was robbed, imo.
