Default Morning links: Keys to Hawks vs. Rams

Morning links: Keys to Hawks vs. Rams

Good morning. I’m heading over to the Edward Jones Dome in a few minutes, but wanted to post my keys to the game first, along with a few links from this morning.

Get Forsett some touches: Julius Jones is a game-time decision, but I don’t think he’ll play today. So it will be important to get the ball to Justin Forsett a combined 20 times either on the ground or through the air, and establish a running game to help take some pressure off Matt Hasselbeck.

Better special teams play: The Seahawks need to continue to work for some big plays on special teams in order to create better field position for the offense, so Nate Burleson and Louis Rankin will be important contributors today.

Generate some pass rush: We’ve been saying it every week, but they should get home today against a young, and inexperienced Rams offensive line. Seattle had two sacks early against Minnesota last week, but didn’t get much pressure against Brett Favre after that.

Stop Rams ground game: Whether its Steven Jackson or one of the Rams reserves, the Seahawks need to bottle up the St. Louis run game and force Kyle Boller and the team’s collection of young receivers to beat them through the air.

My story today details the historically low depths Seattle’s run game has reached this season.

TNT columnist Dave Boling says Hawks can be thankful the Rams are on the schedule twice a year.

Greg Johns of predicts a 27-17 win for Seattle.

ESPN 710 Seattle’s Brock Huard offers three keys for the Hawks today.

ESPN’s John Clayton and Mike Sando discuss today’s contest in this audio link.
The conversation begins about 19 minutes in.

Cortez Kennedy makes the semifinal, top 25 list for the 2010 Hall of Fame.

Jim Thomas of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch breaks down today’s game.

lol ... yeah, Rankin is contributing alright, to the Rams. they stripped him to return for eventual TD.

i don't get it. they have QB snap drills, why not have RB strip drills? if you're a RB and getting paid millions, shouldn't you be doing everything in your power learn how to best protect the ball?

and would somebody pulleez bench Truffant? 5 pass interference calls in the past few games, and as i recall all of them were on 3rd & long.

sure would be nice to see the O-line protect Hasselbeck. so far he's thrown mostly dirt balls because he was hurried.

they're doing all the same things over an over again, knowing that they didn't work each time before ... crazy, just crazy

ENJOY the game, Stevo!
