DELONTE WEST INDICTED Cavs guard Delonte West indicted on weapons charges

PRINCE GEORGE'S COUNTY, MD -- Cavs guard Delonte West was indicted Tuesday on several weapons charges according to Glenn Ivey, the State's Attorney for Prince George's County, Maryland.
According to Ivey, West was indicted on eight weapons charges connected to a traffic stop on September 17.
Police say, West was travelling on I-95 when he cut off a Prince George's police officer.
The officer pulled him over and found West carrying three guns including a Beretta 9 mm handgun, a Ruger .357 handgun and a loaded shotgun with 120 rounds of ammunition.
According to police, the .357 was strapped to West's leg. The shotgun was in a guitar case which was slung over his back.
Ivey says West could face up to 3 years maximum on each count if convicted.
The Cleveland Cavaliers host the Washington Wizards Tuesday night at 7 p.m. at Quicken Loans Arena.
Cavaliers' Senior VP of Communications said West is in Cleveland and did participate in the Cavs shoot around this morning. |
