| Well Gents (and some ladies), Good to see he will have his chance. Alarming to see the change in his level of success (or lack thereof) during the move from College to Pro ball. Some kudos during the rookie season,......but if Vince cannot throw the ball,....this may be very short-lived. I am pulling for him, but am skeptical. Sure do wish to see him do well. | Bud Adams 'can't understand' Titans' play But owner won't change coaches this season By Jim Wyatt THE TENNESSEAN FOXBOROUGH, Mass. — Titans owner Bud Adams called Sunday's 59-0 loss to the Patriots possibly the low point in franchise history, but said he's not going to make any drastic changes during the season. One year after finishing with an NFL-best 13-3 record, the Titans plummeted to 0-6 with the worst defeat since Adams founded the team in 1960. Coaching is a big part of the problem, said the 86-year-old Adams, who made no promises about Jeff Fisher's future with the franchise beyond this season. Fisher, now in his 15th season at the helm of the Titans, is under contract through 2011. "If we end up losing every game or don't look better, I'd have to look at that pretty hard, you know what I mean?'' Adams said during a telephone interview Sunday night. "The way it is going, I don't know if we'll win any games, and that is unheard of in the National Football League. "Right now, it's as bad as I've seen it, and that's a long time. I've never had a team start out like this. We had the best record in the NFL last year. I can't understand it.'' The Titans have been outscored 127-26 in their past three games, have gone eight straight quarters without scoring a touchdown and are one of three winless teams in the league. "Even if I am unhappy, you don't make changes in the middle of the season. You don't know what you might end up with,'' Adams said of the coaching staff. "We'll just have to see what happens the rest of the way. I'll have to make my decision after the season is up. Who knows, we might come back and win 10 games. Then it wouldn't look so bad compared to how we started out. We have to look at the overall picture. "But right now we're not doing very well, and that worries me.'' Fisher 'to keep fighting' Fisher has an overall record of 128-108, but he is 5-6 in the playoffs, including 0-3 since his last postseason victory at the end of the 2003 season. On Sunday night, after the Titans gave up 619 yards to the Patriots, Fisher said he'd never "been through anything like this.'' Asked if he's worried about his job security, Fisher said: "You know, I am going to keep fighting. I'm just going to keep working. You know the staff didn't forget how to coach in the offseason. … It doesn't happen. You don't forget how to coach overnight. What we have to do is find a way to win a ballgame.'' The big staff change last offseason was Chuck Cecil's promotion from secondary coach to defensive coordinator when Jim Schwartz left to become head coach of the Detroit Lions. "That is one of our problems, the coaching staff,'' Adams said. But the owner indicated he wouldn't force Fisher to make changes. "You can't do that in the season, that is not the way you do it," Adams said. "You have to wait until the season is over. The coaches have to be preparing for every game, and it takes a lot of effort. You can't just get rid of people.'' As for a potential change at quarterback, Adams said he'd like to see Vince Young play more instead of starter Kerry Collins. "I have been wanting him to play Vince Young more because Collins has been having his problems out there,'' Adams said. "I just think we need to find out how well (Young) can do. If you don't play the guy and lose all your games, it is hard for you to see what he can do if he is not playing. "Vince has won a lot of games for us. But Jeff is the one making those decisions; they are playing for him.'' Collins had one of the worst games of his career against the Patriots. Young saw mop-up duty in the second half. Fisher wouldn't discuss the quarterback situation after the game. Bud Adams 'can't understand' Titans' play | tennessean.com | The Tennessean

| This is the worst Titans team ever Commentary by David Climer THE TENNESSEAN FOXBOROUGH, Mass. — With the impending bye in the schedule, we now have almost two full weeks to ponder the obvious question: How low can this go? The answer: The bottom is the limit. Judging from what happened in the snowy chill at Gillette Stadium on Sunday, the Titans have sunk so far, so fast that they hold the distinction of being the worst team in the NFL. Worse, they now are at the low point of their tenure in Tennessee. Forget the Pacman years. Forget the 0-5 start of 0-6. These Titans have fallen and they can't get up. This winless hole wasn't dug in a day. After playing the reigning Super Bowl champion Steelers tough on opening day and leading Houston 21-7 in the first half of Game 2, the Titans have gone totally in the tank. "It was 59-zero," running back Chris Johnson said. "Of course people are going to ask if we quit." For the record, nobody in the Titans locker room suggested that they quit. But it's early in the season yet. "Football is an attitude," veteran linebacker Keith Bulluck said. "It's fair to say right now we do not have the attitude that it takes to win in this league." All things considered, they better hope 86-year-old owner Bud Adams has a sense of humor or is distracted by other matters. This sorry season in general and the uncompetitive nature of this game in particular could — and should — leave a mark. This team and this coaching staff are at a crossroads. There is a serious disconnect. Jeff Fisher's message is falling on deaf ears. Personnel decisions have backfired. This is a bad team that is badly coached. A younger Adams would not have taken this sitting down. He would have demanded change. It'll be interesting to see how an older, mellower Adams reacts to owning a team that is now the laughingstock of the NFL. Yes, there are two other winless teams in the league. But at least St. Louis and Tampa Bay don't lose by scores like 59-0. Think about it. A 59-0 game is the kind of mismatch you get in junior high or Pop Warner. Maybe the NFL should consider a mercy rule or at least let the clock run continuously in the second half. Has any NFL team ever taken this kind of dive? Remember, the Titans opened last season 10-0. Since then, they are 3-10, including the current 0-for-'09 skid. "It's about as bad as it gets," said quarterback Kerry Collins, whose bottom-of-the-barrel passer rating of 4.9 spoke volumes. And it's not like anyone is going to take pity on them. This is a take-no-prisoners league. A classic example: After building a 45-0 halftime lead on Sunday, Captain Hoodie (Patriots Coach Bill Belichick) opened the second half in a five-wide receiver set that further exposed the Titans overmatched defense and resulted in another easy touchdown drive. As for all of you screaming that Vince Young should play quarterback from this point forth, it's not the answer. But given the current state of the Titans, why not try something outside the box? If nothing else, Young's insertion into the starting lineup would create some interest. And the Titans are in sore need of drama right now. After all the great expectations of the preseason, they run the risk of becoming irrelevant in the final two months of the NFL season. A city that desperately wants a winner instead is stuck with a pro football bottom-feeder right now. Beyond that, the level of frustration is palpable. As things went from bad to worse late in the first half, Bulluck was observed running to the Titans sideline in an angry funk. Who could blame him? For 10 seasons, he has put his heart and soul into this organization. Now he's in the final year of his contract and bound for unrestricted free agency after the season. As loyal as he has been, Bulluck probably can't wait to get out of town. Yes, there are mitigating circumstances. Aren't there always? The Titans were minus both starting cornerbacks and their No. 1 nickelback on Sunday. That's bad news against anybody. It's a death wish against Tom Brady, Randy Moss, Wes Welker and the rest of the fellas. But as porous as the pass defense was, there is no excusing an aimless offense and a total absence of attention to detail and discipline. As bad as it was, there is no guarantee the Titans touched bottom on Sunday. They have 10 games remaining and nothing except pride to play for. Based on what we saw on Sunday, it's now a losing trifecta. The Titans have no offense, no defense and no pride. This is the worst Titans team ever | tennessean.com | The Tennessean

| I think Titans win this won because I don't think they will go 0-16 and if they lose, they might. Same with Lambs. I think they win. If neither nor win, Lions may have three's company in winless infamy.

As bad as the Jags are....And, they are really, really friggin bad...If i HAD to bet this one, iI'd have to go with the Jags +3 here.. Luckily though, i don't have to bet this shitty game , so, i'll just follow the trainwreck on the 'highlights' clips during the real games... |
