Sure, Rutgers has the better players, but this Army team is scrappy, and they have fought and clawed in every game they've been in. And believe me, they will run the ball with some success against Rutgers tonight.
Other then Iowa St. pulling away late, Army has been in every game right to the end (don't let the Duke and Temple scores fool you, those were very late turnover add on points).
I concede Rutgers is a notch above Army on the class calculator, but with what I've seen from these 2 squads this year, I'm convinced this will be a competitive ball game, and I wouldn't be surprised at all to see Army pull out the outright win. |
I don't disagree with anything you've said here. I'm struggling with whether to add them to my Dog Day. I just don't know if Army can score enough points. Yes, they were in the game last week 13-13 late, and if they convert on 4th and iches, I have another 305 points in the dog day. But they didn't, and then had an interception overturned because of an interference call, then fumble on their own 1, and next thing you know, a 13-13 tie, ends 27-13, and I don't cover ARMY +10 ARGGGGGGGGGG!!!
Army is a bit like Vandy. Yes they are scrappy, and hang around, but they're challenged a bit offensively wouldn't you agree?
Army lost to Tulane, who was whooped by every team with a pulse, and they barely beat Vanderbilt, who, I have been making a living playing the "vandy team-total UNDER".
I agree rutgers is nothing special, hence I didn't play either side. I just think Army will struggle to score, that's all.
But keep pluggin Army, and you may talk them into my dogday final 5
