Turns out that stage father Papa Heene has this thing about directing his sons to make bratty videos, presumably to show off their ersatz Dennis-the-Menace-like scampiness. Here's a lovely video in which the Heene children pick their noses to make a booger soup to serve to Mom:

Here's a clip in which the Heene children get paid to pick up what they call "dog sh*t." It's always charming when small children swear:

In this clip, described by one of the Heene parents as "outrageously funny and comical" (funny and comical both), the trio makes dessert. I particularly love it when the littlest one calls his brother a "dumbass," and later suggests putting "sh*t" on the plate. Har har! No wonder this YouTube channel is titled "Hilarious Heene Family." Verily, these frisky tots ought to be given their own reality show. Well, whaddaya know, Richard Heene has been unsuccessfully pitching just such a project to the cablers.

I look forward with lip-smacking relish to the truth about the Balloon Boy story coming out. It might be the only thing that saves these three children from having their lives ruined by their world-class jerk of a father.

judging from their youtube 'page', the whole family needs to be launched...

I think he was referencing the point that, like the Ramsey's, this douchebag and his wife are dressing up and putting their kids on a stage for their own gain.

JonBenet was dressed up like a vaudeville hooker and made to dance and sing.....These little assclowns are instructed to call eachother 'dumbass', and sayd and do stupid shit on video.

Weird comparison though, i agree.

The strange case of Falcon Heene took another twist Sunday when a Colorado sheriff said the boy's parents had staged the runaway balloon saga as a publicity stunt to score a reality television show.

"There is absolutely no doubt in our minds that this was a hoax," Larimer County Sheriff Jim Alderden said at a news conference in Fort Collins. Richard and Mayumi Heene planned the caper for at least two weeks, he said, and are likely to face felony charges.

The sheriff added that some entertainment media might have been complicit, but he refused to identify them. One outlet, he said, had already paid the Heenes in connection with the balloon launch.

The Heenes deny wrongdoing.

Default Police seek associate in alleged balloon hoax

Police seek associate in alleged balloon hoax
Researcher allegedly claims Colo. dad wanted to promote reality TV show

FORT COLLINS, Colo. - An associate of the father accused of carrying out the now-infamous balloon boy ordeal to promote a reality TV show was wanted for questioning after e-mails surfaced showing the two had discussed a similar stunt months ago as part of a public relations campaign for the program.

In the meantime, the attorney for the Richard Heene family told NBC's TODAY show that his client was "absolutely" innocent and he called on the police to disclose its evidence.

Investigators, for their part, said they want to interview Robert Thomas, a Denver man who claimed Heene had told him he was planning a media stunt to promote a proposed reality show. Thomas, a self-described researcher, sold his story to Gawker.com and provided the Web site with e-mail exchanges between him and Heene. Thomas said the show would feature Heene as a mad scientist who carries out various scientific experiments.

"This will be the most significant UFO-related news event to take place since the Roswell Crash of 1947, and the result will be a dramatic increase in local and national awareness about The Heene family our Reality Series, as well as the UFO Phenomenon in general," according to a copy of the show's proposal provided to the site by Thomas.

Gawker.com editor-in-chief Gabriel Snyder confirmed the New York-based Web site paid Thomas, but declined to say how much for the story billed with the headline: "Exclusive: I Helped Richard Heene Plan a Balloon Hoax."

Snyder said Thomas was planning to meet with investigators Sunday night, though sheriff's officials did not return messages seeking confirmation.

Messages left for Thomas by The Associated Press were not returned.

Thomas, 25, said in his Gawker.com story that the plan he knew about did not involve Heene's children.

Flying-saucer shaped homemade balloon
The alleged stunt temporarily shut down Denver International Airport, and the National Guard provided two helicopters in an attempt to rescue 6-year-old Falcon Heene, who was believed to be inside the flying-saucer shaped homemade balloon that hurtled more than 50 miles across two counties.

The drama played out on live television to millions of viewers worldwide. When the balloon landed without the boy, officials thought he had fallen out and began the grim search for his body.

Larimer County Sheriff Jim Alderden announced Sunday that he's seeking charges, including felonies, against Richard Heene and his wife, Mayumi. Alderden said the stunt two weeks in the planning was a marketing ploy by the Heenes, who met in acting school in Hollywood and have appeared on ABC's reality show "Wife Swap."

"We certainly know that there's a conspiracy between the husband and wife, you've probably seen some of the e-mails and some of the things on the Internet suggesting that there may be other conspirators," Alderden said.

Alderden said documents show that a media outlet has agreed to pay money to the Heenes with regard to the balloon incident. Alderden didn't name the media outlet but said it was a show that blurs "the line between entertainment and news."

It wasn't clear whether the deal was signed before or after the alleged hoax, or whether the media outlet was a possible conspirator.

"Let's call it (my statement) short of speculation that a media outlet was in on the hoax, but let's not discount the possibility," he said.

In an e-mail Sunday to the AP, Snyder said editors at Gawker.com had not contacted the Heene family or offered them money for their story, referring to Alderden's reference to a deal being struck by a media outlet.

"No, that wasn't us," Snyder said.

Couple willing to turn themselves in
The parents weren't under arrest, the sheriff said. He said he expected to recommend charges of conspiracy, contributing to the delinquency of a minor, making a false report to authorities and attempting to influence a public servant. Federal charges were also possible.

The couple's attorney, David Lane, issued a statement later Sunday saying the Heenes were willing to voluntarily turn themselves in to face charges. Lane said he advised the family against making public statements.

On Monday, during an interview with TODAY, Lane cautioned the media about accepting the police's version of what happened. "Let's see what they've got," Lane said, in reference to the possible charges.

Lane said his clients were innocent, and said that until he could see the alleged evidence, "we're left in the dark in terms of what they sheriff's department claims they've got."

The attorney also repeated his call on the sheriff to let him know if authorities planned to arrest his clients. Lane said he would have the family members turn themselves in at a moment's notice, and he urged the police to resist "a perp walk for media consumption." He said a public arrest would be traumatic for the children.

The most serious possible charges are felonies and carry a maximum sentence of six years in prison and a $500,000 fine. Alderden said they would be seeking restitution for the costs, though he didn't have an estimate.

The cost for just the two military helicopters was about $14,500.

The media and the public are so eager to get a sensational story with only bits and pieces of actual facts.

I don't know how much it cost to send up two National guard helicopters but it probably is not cheap. Make the dumbass parents pay the bill for that and let them be.

Holy shit, what a circus....This is awesome...

Violent scuffle outside Heene home caught on camera,
when man confronts FOX 31 crew, other 'journalists'.

Witnesses say a man in a white t-shirt confronted news crews covering the 'balloon boy' story
developments outside the Richard Heene home in Fort Collins.
The person in the orange shirt was seen in video jumping on the man
in an attempt to stop him.

The scene outside the Heene home turned into a chaotic one Sunday as a stranger pulled up in a vehicle, and confronted a FOX 31 crew that was covering the developments in the balloon story.

Witnesses say the man was shouting derogatory comments at the row of reporters outside the home when he got out and confronted FOX 31'S Jon Bowman and one of our photo journalists.

Another journalist tried to stop the man, who then punched him repeatedly.

"The next thing I know, he jumps out (and started saying) 'I got you now, I'm going to get you people out of the neighborhood,' and he comes up and grabs me by the collar," Jon Bowman said. "You know, it was all I could do to just stand there and not do anything."

Bowman said it just got more bizarre from that point. A large number of cameras recorded the event. You can see the man chase FOX 31 photo journalist Byron Stewart around the live truck, when all-of-a-sudden, someone else came and jumped on the man. The two of them fought and rolled around on the ground.

Shortly after that, police arrived. There have been no arrests so far, and no charges filed yet

Not even news to me. They are giving this thing way too much time.

Seems like there are way more important things going on like our young men in harms way in Afghanistan etc.

The media is nothing but vultures lurking and when they see their target they swarm relentlessly until they get every last piece. I agree with freedom of speech etc but there comes a point where standing up to these vultures is necessary. That guys actions were rather commendable...whether it be a balloon incident, brutal murder or child abduction these scumbags are going to hound and ruin the lives further of those effected by the incident.

The mother of the 6-year-old boy once feared missing inside a runaway helium balloon admitted the whole saga was a hoax, according to court documents released Friday.

Mayumi Heene told sheriff's deputies that she and her husband Richard "knew all along that Falcon was hiding in the residence" in Fort Collins, according to an affidavit used to get a search warrant for the home.

She allegedly told investigators the incident was a hoax meant to make them more marketable to the media.

"Mayumi described that she and Richard Heene devised this hoax approximately two weeks earlier.... She and Richard had instructed their three children to lie to authorities as well as the media regarding this hoax," the affidavit said.

Richard Heene has denied a hoax. His lawyer, David Lane, said Friday he is waiting to see the evidence in the case.

"Allegations are cheap," Lane said.

Mayumi Heene's lawyer, Lee Christian, was traveling and didn't immediately respond to messages left with his office.

Larimer County Sheriff Jim Alderden has said he will recommend charges against the Heenes including conspiracy, contributing to the delinquency of a minor, making a false report to authorities, and attempting to influence a public servant. The most serious charges are felonies and carry a maximum sentence of six years in prison.

Alderden said authorities also would be seeking restitution for the costs of the balloon chase, though he didn't provide a figure.

His office has said it will likely be next week before it forwards its findings to prosecutors to decide on charges.

In frantic calls to a TV station, 911 and federal aviation officials, the Heenes reported that they feared Falcon was in the homemade, saucer-like balloon when it was accidentally launched from their back yard last week.

Millions watched as media and National Guard helicopters tracked the balloon across the Colorado plains. It landed in a dusty farm field, where ground crews looked inside but found no sign of the boy.

Later, the relieved-looking couple reported Falcon had been hiding in their garage the whole time. But suspicion heated up when Falcon made a comment on CNN that sounded like "You had said we did this for a show."

Sheriff's deputies questioned the parents separately on Oct. 17, two days after the flight. Mayumi Heene told authorities "she and Richard Heene had lied to authorities on October 15, 2009 (the day of the flight)," the affidavit said.

She told investigators "that the release of the flying saucer was intentional as a hoax.... The motive for the fabricated story was to make the Heene family more marketable for future media interest," the affidavit said.

The Heenes twice had appeared on ABC's reality show "Wife Swap," and acquaintances said Richard Heene had plans for other possible shows.

The producer of "Wife Swap" had a show in development with the Heenes but said the deal is now off. The TLC cable network also said Heene had pitched a reality show months ago, but it passed on the offer.

Sheriff's officials declined to comment Friday.

Among the items taken by authorities during the home search Saturday were video cameras, computers, hard drives, a picture of a flying saucer, receipts, papers, a phone/address book and a flight itinerary. The list didn't identify the passenger, destination or date of travel.
