The Argentine players are carrying Maradana off on their shoulders. Well, they tried to, they put him down, too fat!

At least he was smart enough to bench butterfingers in goal and played Romero instead.

Uruguay will play Costa Rica or Honduras in a 2-legged playoff for a World Cup spot.

For all that was at stake, a rather dull game. Argentina better get a LOT better by next summer if their going to contend for a third world crown. They need a mid-field architect and they should probably fire Maradona and see if Riquelme will come back for one more tournament. Watching Veron is just painful.

Thanks Theo, that seemed pretty damn easy...Can't find the score anywhere, but, it's been graded a W, so, good enough for me...

Great job, TH.

I have to admit that I'm pretty bad at World Cup capping. Has to do w/ limited data. Last WC, there were VERY FEW upsets. Only sizable one I can recall is Ghana over Czech Rep.

We'll see what Goon says, but one live longshot would be Ivory Coast to win World Cup. Arguably the most talented African team ever.

I rarely bother with pre tournament odds, horrible juice and hate locking up money long term, I'd rather churn that over for 6-8 months.

With that being said, Argentina might be value between now and the draw. They will sort out their midfield problems and not having to trouble with altitude issues and the home press pressure, they will put together a strong team for S Africa, even if I don't trust Maradona's managerial skills they still have top 3 type talent in this tournament.

If you want to take a stab with a long shot, look at Serbia, this is a team that's rock solid defensively and their offense can score occasionally, and they have some very nice talent coming up the pipeline, plus very few can match their commitment level for 90'.

For now, it's all about the regular season stuff and U17's starting up on the 24th for me.
