| Angry Player Breaks Dealers Hand July 4, 2009 It's been reported that Semi Pro poker player Thang Luu of Las Vegas Nevada, was removed from the Rio Casino last night, for breaking a dealer’s hand. There’s two players in this hand, seat one against Thang Luu in seat nine. The hand goes all the way to a showdown, when the player in seat one tells the dealer he cannot see the player in Thang Luu’s cards. The dealer takes the cards from Luu, and slides them closer to the player in seat one. According to reports, Luu then balled his hand into a fist… and smashed the dealer’s hand, breaking it. Players at the table report that he then told Luu to never touch his cards again. Reports say the bones between the dealer’s knuckles and wrist was broken. When 4flush staff contacted the Rio to confirm this story, we were told that the Rio Casino could not confirm the incident occurred because police were still investigating it. Luu was taken into custody, and banned from Harrah’s casino property’s. It looks like he may have gotten his wish, being that he won’t be allowed back into Harrah’s, the dealer will never again touch his cards. Angry Player Breaks Dealers Hand | Online Poker News |

| Where exactly is the dealer pitching the cards where another player can't see them?? Sounds like it was Omaha or Stud-- it could be the dealers fault for pitching them in the wrong place.

| He certainly has the reszults to say he's the best around. However, here's an email a friend sent me after the $2500 Omaha 8 last week: I started out a table that was pretty stacked. Daniel Negreanu, Mike Matusow, and Thang Luu were at the table as well as some other solid players. Lu has won two Omaha bracelets and I naturally assumed he was a very talented Omaha player. On one hand, I had to really rethink things and actually wondered if he was a little insane. I was in the big blind with 2457 double suited and Thang raised from early position and both the small blind and big blind (me) called. The flop was A38 with two hearts. I loved my hand. I had the lock low, the wrap straight draw and the five high flush draw. The small blind led, I raised, Thang called, the SB raised, I reraised and Thang made it five bets. The turn was an offsuit queen. The small blind led out again, I called thinking that I might be getting quartered with my low and I was hoping to hit some sort of high hand on the river. Thang also called. The river was a king and the SB bet and we both called. The SB turned over A488 and said "I have high" thinking his set of eights was good. I said, I have low and showed the nut low and Thang turned his hand over and showed KK35 with no hearts. He made it five bets on the flop with no low draw, no flush draw, a pair of kings (with an ace on board) and ended up winning half the pot with his set of kings. What the hell? |

| A friend of mine who is playing today called me during the dinner break. Obviously, this is a big story at the Rio. Apparently Thang Luu has been banned from all Harrah's properties forever, and the dealer is pressing assault charges. I'm sure he'll get paid off and the charges will be dropped, but Luu was booked. |

| To physically assault somebody in that manner, you have to be an utter narcissus, you have to have zero empathy or respect for other human beings and you have to be criminally cruel - otherwise termed a sociopath. That describes the typical pro poker player to a T.

| Wow. This guy is even worse than a poker player. He should be charged with a felony and sent to prison.

| Looking at his pics from google image search. Little fucking asian runt. Of course it was a woman in a wheelchair. Any man above 5 feet 5 and 140 pounds would have broken his neck.

I took it that "I can't see his cards," was said at the showdown, which would explain why the dealer would be moving someone's cards around. It would also explain why a player would react angrily if he thought the dealer was reaching to muck the winning hand. The player has a responsibility to protect his cards until he is shipped the pot. A friend of mine was once dealing in such a situation. When Seat 3 pointed to Seat 9's cards and said, "Move his cards down here, I can't see them," my friend declined. Instead, my friend invited Seat 3 to get up and walk around the table if that would help him get a better look at Seat 9's cards, because he wasn't touching that man's cards until the pot had been pushed (and he wasn't pushing the pot until all losing hands had been mucked). I was dealing a big PLO game once. Two players in the hand on the flop. First player asked the Second player, "How much have you got?" Second player lifted his hands, to let him see his stack. This wasn't specific enough, so the First player said to me, "Count his chips." I know better than to put my hands on somebody else's money, so I never even reached for the Second player's stack. But before I could respond, the second player picked up a stack of red chips, and held them firmly in his hand, with his thumb on one end. "What are you doing?", asked a bystander. "I'm getting ready to break that dealer's hand, if he tries to touch my money." I just laughed. "You didn't notice that I never even started to reach for your money?" EDIT: I just read it again, it says it happened at showdown. |

| I mean it when I say poker players are the lowest form of scum out of all celebrities and athletes. Someone tell me I am wrong? There ain't enough money you could pay me to be a dealer and have to put up with these assholes 40 hours a weak. I'm sure there are a lot of decent players, but they are the exception. On top of having to put up with the elite and mid major players, the wannabe pros and internet flakes make it unbearable and intolerable.

| To be honest, I am skeptical this really happened. Won, he doesn't look like the type. Too, his arms are barely long enough to reach his chips led alone dealer's knuckles...
