Default A question about Presidential election wagers 4 years ago

I wasn't much of a player 4 years ago and was wondering what happened 4 years ago for those who wagered on the outcome of the Presidential election in 2000. Did any books declare a winner the day after the election? Did they wait for the Florida Supreme Court to make their judgement?

Just curious.

I had money on Bush in 2000 and had to wait until the Florida Supreme Court decision to get paid. Nothing like having dough tied up for an extra month or however long it was...

One pd both sides because they prematurely paid the wrong side, Intertops maybe?

The rest waited.

In 1998 the Department of Justice brought charges under the Wire Act against 22 American citizens involved in managing foreign-based sites. "You canít hide online," Janet Reno, the attorney-general, warned Internet betting operators, "and you canít hide offshore."
