| How manolis hiotis influence Jimmy Hendrix |
Jimmy Hendrix met Hiotis in New York when the Greek bouzouki player was touring in the states in the 60's. It is said that Hendrix would frequent the club Hiotis would play in and marvel at his skill. They would speak for hours discussing music.
Hendrix was mesmerized by Hiotis' ability to play very fast and clearly without dropping notes. I guess the the influence was this fantastic ability of Hiotis that drove Hendrix to play the way he did.
When asked if he thought whether he was the greatest guitar player he answered that there was someone else better than him (although Hiotis played the bouzouki and not guitar)

Let me tell you a small story. When Jimy Hendrix came to Greece, one he went to a local place to have fun. There was a bouzouki player named Manolis Chiotis. He was the best bouzouki player in Greece. When Jimi saw him he said that if Chiotis was playing guitar, he would have been the greatest guitar player ever. Unbelievable? It happened though.
