Could be even longer if the Pro Bowler opts for surgery to repair a torn medial collateral ligament, unlike foolish Chargers LB Shawne Merriman. If Saturday undergoes surgery, agent Ralph Cindrich expects him to be out until the second half of the season.

This is headline news because Saturday is the true yin to QB Peyton Manning's yang. The Colts have proven they can survive without the likes of WR Marvin Harrison for long stretches of time. However, Saturday is the indisputable leader of an offensive line that takes such good care of Manning.

This doesn't make sense, I assume the reporter got the ligament wrong. Your MCL regenerates itself, so even with a grade 3 tear, you don't get/need surgery...The injury description in this write up sounds much more like a PCL...If it is an MCL then he should only miss a few weeks, even if it's a grade 3 tear, you can wear a metal brace, and NFL trainers will shoot you up with all kinds of sh!t to make you feel like Superman...
