Penn State tabs Clark as starting quarterback

STATE COLLEGE, Pa. -- Senior Daryll Clark will start at quarterback for Penn State when the 22nd-ranked Nittany Lions open the season Saturday against Division 1-AA foe Coastal Carolina.

Coach Joe Paterno says Clark's experience and good preseason gave him the edge over sophomore Pat Devlin.

Clark, considered a dual-threat quarterback, served as the primary backup the last two years to Anthony Morelli.

since we all know what dual threat means ...sorry mjh i think its safe to say penn state will not be good this year

they should be just fine, 3rd or 4th place finish in Big 10 is definitely acheivable


"dual threat" means they will use him like Mike Robinson...best offense at PSU in the past decade. not saying we'll see the same here but it has to be better than JoePa's "run up the middle every down" offense
