she's only 6/yrs younger than him, but ... she's much better looking

Smartest thing he could do. If McCain ever won the female vote, he would win by 10+ points nationally, and it would be an electoral landslide. But he'w not that smart.

it may bring him some of the Hillary votes too, Fly, but yeah i agree w/you. he really aint that smart. f*ck, he cant talk w/o using a 3x5 card, and he even screws those up.

there's a reason he reached across the aisle so much. he doesn't know where he stands.

There are 18 million pissed off women who want to vote for a woman, and they will both pick another old white male. Idiots. Could Obama possibly have made a worse choice? I can't imagine who could be worse.

Pretty sad when stuporfly makes cents. Obama will not lose the election because of Biden. But he just made it harder on himself. Those hardcore Hillaryites (both men and women) have to be pissed. Obama can pretty much kiss off any chance he had of fully uniting the party. Combining his and Hillary's base would have made him near invincible since Mccain has lukewarm support from the GOP base. Now, that angle is pretty much a wash and it will come down to independents like it usually does. The only reason I can see for not picking Hillary is he's afraid she'll Manchurian Candidate his black ass. I guess I can understand that. But as far as helping him win the election, Obama just screwed the pooch. Biden is the most unexciting VP pick since Dickwad Cheney. Bush did still win, though he never had any base problems since Mccain's supporters were Democrats and independents.

Whereas, I thought Mccain had no shot to win. Now he is even money. I'd pound him at Wsex interactives if he's still a big dog...

Cohen already adjusted. Obama was over -200. What does this tell you when someone's odds go down after they pick their running mate? This pick has Hoochie Mama Michelle's handprints all over it. She doesn't like Hillary. Obama, be a man and stop letting your wife run your campaign. Are you going to let her make your decisions as President too?

the election odds went way down much earlier than the VP choice was announced and it definitely was due to mccain's momentum from the polliing numbers and the "debate" with pastor rick warren. the VP choice had ZERO negative effect on the betting odds.

Keep driving that price down. I'm aleady fully loaded on Obama at great odds, but if they force me to take more by making it an umnbelievabe value again, I'll have to make room for more and take a few NFL weeks off. Biden was a fantastic pick, clearly the best pick, and if McSame makes his pick based on Obama's pick, he's reacting and playing defense, rather than picking who he's most comfortable with. Whoever he picks will be slaughtered by Biden in the VP debate. I hope to G-d it's Romney. A likeable, affable everyman, with a gret sense of humor and the git of gab, vs a stuck up, unlikeable, flip flopping maniac. Huckabee would be the one pick who would trouble me, as I think he'd be a great pick for McCain, but luckily I don't think he's under consideration.

If you think the VP debate will change even one vote somewhere in America, you're clueless.

I first remember Blowhard Biden from the Anita Hill hearings. He was chair. To his credit, he was one of the few Democrats who treated Clarence Thomas fairly. Seems like a nice guy - the kind of guy you could have a beer with. Down to earth and authentic. But two old and boring.

According to Time's website it's narrowed down to 3 choices - Mitt Romney, Tom Ridge and Rob Portman

Also Pawlenty is still getting consideration. They say Rob Portman may be the one if his wife will let him take the job. They think Ohio is going to decide the election and McCain is hoping having Portman as VP will sway the vote enough to give the state to the Republicans. Apparently McCain really likes Tom Ridge but a lot of Republicans are asking him not to choose Ridge because the Democrats will pick him apart in debates.

Ridge is an idiot

with that said, he might be able to swing PA to McCain - although traditionally a blue state Obama did terribly there
