Bosox fan sues Yankees, 2 fans for rough treatment

Aug 5, 1:32 PM EDT

NEW YORK (AP) -- A Boston Red Sox fan sued the New York Yankees and two of its fans Tuesday, alleging he was attacked at Yankee Stadium last summer.

In a suit filed in Manhattan federal court, Charles Hillios said he was harassed by two Yankees fans who objected to him cheering for the Red Sox last Aug. 29.

The Massachusetts resident said in the suit that security warned the Yankees fans to leave him alone. But he said the fans "viciously attacked and physically assaulted" him when he went to a concession stand.

According to the lawsuit, Hillios suffered serious injuries. It seeks unspecified financial penalties.

A call for comment to the New York Yankees on Tuesday was not immediately returned.

Maybe he was just too sore to call an attorney right away....He is a Red Sox fan after all, so, most likely he's a frail, fragile little fella...

Suing Sox fan balks at fees

By BRUCE GOLDING
NY POST
Last Updated: 5:03 AM, September 23, 2009

Quit your bellyaching.

A Boston Red Sox fan suing the Yankees over a brutal beat-down he received at the old Yankee Stadium challenged a court order yesterday that he cough up $6,000 to send defense lawyers to his doctor's deposition.

Charles Hillios, of Massachusetts -- who needed three eye operations after getting kicked in the face for cheering a Boston homer in 2007 -- says it's "perverse" to make him pay legal fees for Shawn Sellick and Daniel Benjamin, who have been criminally convicted.

Hillios also says the Bombers and their security company, Burns International, can easily afford to send lawyers to Worcester, Mass., to question the eye surgeon.
