Default Fantasy Football Players: Question on Draft

I pick 7th this year in a 9 team league...

I can't decide whether I am going to be better off taking a combo of Moss, Wayne, and Owens with my top two picks or if I should go the old school running back route and take Larry Johnson and Marion Barber.

There is also a good chance Peyton Manning will be there and I could always try and hook him up with Wayne on the wrap around.

League is weighted where the receivers and running backs get 7 pts for TD's and 3 pts every time they go over 75 yards. There is bonuses along the way for length of TD and Yards as well but you get the picture.

My initial thought is that I am going to pick Moss and Wayne and then come back and pick Marques Colston and Drew Brees. This seems risky since I am no running backs in but the depth at running back seems deeper than ever.

WSW - lots of variables such as the competency of those drafting around you, the scoring system you use, etc etc. Personally, I am not in favor of taking two key players from the same team (Manning/Wayne). I love drafting late in the first round - if you play your cards right, you can really get two great players in your position. It really comes down to what those are doing around you, how smart they are, and if you can take advantage of them/your position.

I agree...

I am in a good spot picking third to last. Top two guys from last year are not that hot just were fortunate and had Brady/Moss on one team and Romo/Owens on the other.

I wouldn't want Larry Johnson. I'd rather have MBIII.

It amazes me how fast Running Backs fall off in the NFL. Just two years ago Larry Johnson was the hottest thing in the league and now he can be had in the second round. Even worse than him is Shaun Alexander. The drop off at this position is insane.
