 Leisure & Gaming plc appoints Creed (formerly of BOS) as finance director Leisure & Gaming plc appoints Creed Written by Adrie van der Luijt Wednesday, 14 May 2008 Leisure & Gaming plc has appointed Richard Creed to the board as finance director, replacing Michael Baird. Leisure & Gaming plc is a holding company focused on the online betting and gaming sector. Its main operations consist of online and retail sports betting service BetShop Italia, the pan-European online sports betting, casino and poker business BetShop.com, mobile and online football information service GoalsLive.com, and online casino Acropolis Casino. The group’s focus is on emerging markets, particularly Italy and Central and Eastern Europe. Its operating subsidiaries have offices in the UK, Italy, Cyprus, Greece and Romania. Creed, 52, was formerly finance director of BetonSports plc and a partner with Casson Beckman, now part of Baker Tilly. He is a qualified accountant who has extensive gaming industry and corporate finance experience. Neil Craven has been appointed to the board as a non-executive director. Benjamin Shaw has stepped down from his position as a non-executive director. Craven, a shareholder in the company, has many years' experience at senior management levels in telecommunications and fund management. He is currently a private investor focusing on small-cap equities. Henry Birch, chief executive of Leisure & Gaming plc (LSE:LNG), said that Creed’s experience in the gaming industry and over 25 years experience of corporate finance and accountancy would be of huge benefit to the company and strengthen its management expertise. Baird and Shaw were involved in restructuring and transforming the company over the past eighteen months.  |
