Best Picture at $4.00 could be worth a shot

There Will Be Blood 4.00
Atonement 5.00
Juno 10.00
Michael Clayton 21.00

The Coen brothers won the DGA Award last night for No Country and of course Atonement won the Golden Globe. I personally don't think No Country for Old Men will get a lot of support. I wouldn't be shocked if Michael Clayton pulled the upset

I think No Country and There Will be Blood might hurt eachothers chances by splitting too many votes in a few categories... I think Michael Clayton has a great shot just because of that.

JAVIER BARDEM seemks to be sweeping the awards for best supporting actor though, i'll be surprised as Hell if he doesn't get the Oscar too.

Since we're on the subject, has anyone here seen Michael Clayton yet? I've heard critics talk about it, but, don't think i've heard anyone else mention it anywhere...Seemed to die quickly at the theaters first time around.

Michael Clayton reminds me a lot of Crash - film was good when it came out and had some critical acclaim. Everyone forgot about it come Oscar time and it was a mega longshot as a result. But when voters started looking at the stuff that came out later in the year they realized Crash was actually better.

Having said that, I'm going to pass on best pic.

Best option if you can still get it is Ruby Dee for Supporting Actress at mega long odds. Having won the SAG last night she has to be considered. Plus I think Blanchett and Ryan will cancel each other out as there is no preference for either.

The other categories are pretty much locks with Coen winning director (I think only 2 DGA winners in recent years didn't go on to get the Oscar), Lewis winning best actor, Christie winning best actress and Bardem winning supporting actor.
