This should be an interesting topic for quite some time.

Who the heck is going to punish him?

Some alphabet soup organization...similiar to the one fighting the US over offshore sportsbooks?

As it all tumbles down ..Mr Tom will probably have nothing to worry about.

He had a license to steal.

It's computer screens with bundles of monies being tossed around with "nicknames". Jesus..Does it get any easier to steal?

Put this cash game in NY with real people then and only then would Mr Tom have to fear for his life.

TS,

I really think you are barking up the wrong tree.
According to Pokerlistings they are about the 8th largest room.

Poker Room Current Peak Avg. Trend
1. Poker Stars 11,674 15,810 10,165 9%
2. Party Poker 8,126 10,855 5,466 2%
3. Titan Poker 6,143 8,304 4,086 4%
4. Full Tilt Poker 4,437 8,260 4,983 -4%
5. Everest Poker 4,341 5,771 2,502 3%
6. Pacific Poker 1,354 1,841 915 -2%
7. Ultimate Bet 1,301 3,067 1,576 17%
8. Absolute Poker 1,054 2,395 1,375 5%
9. Gnuf Poker 868 1,972 914 -21%
10. Bodog Poker 538 2,263 985 1%

While other rooms would benefit from their departure, it would not be a bonanza. I think it is far more likely that it is what it seems to be.

They got caught cheating.

I think it's pretty funny that they were so bad at cheating.
If they had played the game relatively straight and cheated it would have been very difficult to detect.

Make all your continuation bets light when the other guy has you.
Bet extra when you think you will get a call.
It would be pretty easy to win a tourney knowing the hole cards without playing the rediculous way the guy did.

not sticking up for anybody robin. certainly have no interest in the matter other than the fact it looks like an orchestrated measure to put them out of business. just my opinion. didnt expect many to agree while in pile on mode

only 2 of them service the us market, taking into consideration that ub and ab are the same

Too convenient for AP. Just that disgruntled employee guy again. Man, does he get around.

At the very least, AP customers need to see the complete hand histories from every game these guys played in before the series of events that got them found out. Could have been building for a long time, and those victims should be refunded too.

lol Sporto .. i think i said that a disgruntled employee would be blamed last nite? then the audit would clear them as well, and then the big bonus to woo people into depositing again would be soon to follow

classic.

i do agree w/Zero tho, there needs to be accountability but fat chance of that ever happening, or people really caring about it anyways? they just want the bonus and to play cards ...

I'm actually surprised it took this long for a site to get caught. Talk all you want about well they don't need to cheat they get rake, but bottom line the rooms who decided to stay in the US market in the end will be doomed. If regulation ever does comes there will be no way in hell sites like absolute with there iffy backround of investors and the f you to the US will get licensed. That will be their death blow when they have to compete with legit lic. sites and they all know it (after all where do you think most players will go when it becomes legit Bally's a well known gaming name or absolute where el presidente of costa rica get's his bribes to oversee poker;-) . So I gather the mentality is get it while we can. Remember rats on sinking ship bite.
