Nice job in passing HB 2694. We are all now safer because AZ residents are not allowed to place wagers with LEGAL Horse Racing sites, such as Youbet and Winticket. And to top it off, If happen to use an out of state address to keep my accounts open so I can place a wager, I can be technically charged with a Class 6 Felony. See below: O. Any person other than a permittee under this article who accepts a wager or who bets on the results of a race, whether the race is conducted in or outside this state, including buying, selling, cashing, exchanging or acquiring a financial interest in a pari-mutuel ticket from a person in this state outside of a racing enclosure or an additional wagering facility that is approved by the commission and that is located in this state is guilty of a class 6 felony. Time to write my state reps~!

Looks like Kyl finally got some influence with the state legilators. As for feeling safer you know full well it has to do with protectionism of state horse racing revenues and nothing to do with terrorism. They even imply it in that piece of legislation.

It's all about the tax revenue with this bill. With the tracks crying poor because of Indian Gaming, it looks like they are going after some hardship tax credits. What the state has done though, is taken away the chance that the local tracks here could negotiate a cut with sites such as Youbet or Winticket.
