I am siriusly considering taking out a Live Long and Prosper.com loan for two dimes so I can enter the Hilton NFL Contest via proxy. Unbelievably my credit rating is high enough (has to be 520+ and mine is 600+) and I would just have to open a new checking account. What is the downside, other than going 37-48 again?

There's no down side for honest people. For you, there's no upside. Those people are a lot smarter than you. As soon as you stiff them, which would be the first payment due, they will sue your ass and attach those proceeds from any contest so fast, you wouldn't know what hit you. They'll get any money you win long before you will.

Let me see, $350,000 for first place minus $100,000 federal taxes minus $20,000 state taxes minus $5500 Prosper loan % interest. 60-25 still equals well over $200,000. I'm doing this! LIVE LONG WIN 60 AND PROSPER!!!!

I encourage all posters of this sad thread to email prosper.com with dell Dude's IP address and email address so he can't step foot into this place. how would you posters feel if you're on the other end and didn't have a clue of who you were loaning to and never recoup a dime??

I'm just wondering if I should tell the truth for the loan - that I want to use it to gamble - or kind of "water" it down with a more *tasteful* reason.

this is basically a 'no-doc loan'

in other words, you say you're self Employed and it varies from year to year and you don't have to mark the truth down. scumbags like you do this all the time to get into 40% no down loan for housing

just say you make like 95 dimes a year and leave it at that.

Have to wait until I get a checking account, and I'm not getting a checking account until I get a payout. On principle. So start the prosper.com clock. I may miss Hilton. I won't miss the next WSOP.

Dear Joseph,

Congratulations! You have passed the security requirements necessary to become a lender within the Prosper marketplace.

Now that you are a lender, you can transfer money into your Prosper account for bidding on listings.
Now all's I have to do is open a checking account and get my five dimes. Too easy. Too easy.

Can't wait until I do my first Live Long and Prosper Suicide Parlay. It's going to be just like the old eft days.

This is low, DD. Rob your 401K, or whatever, but don't steal from someone on prosper. I love reading your parlays and all that, but this crosses a line, man. Rethink this one.

Who said anything about stealing. We're talking about gambling. I will just consider this my credit account.

Why not post the truth and offer big interest but imply that there's a chance the person will not get the money back?

"Hi, I would like a $5000 loan so I can buy myself a hooker proxy for the Las Vegas Hilton NFL capping contest which pays around $350,000 for 1st place. The entry costs $1000, the hooker $500 and the airfare and hotel another $500. The rest I am going to put on the Detroit Lions moneyline in their season opener against the Raiders. If I win on the Lions or win the contest, I will pay back the loan. If I lose on both, I have no comment. Please kindly note I was barely over 40% last year in the NFL and under 30% on Lions bets. Gambling is a serious addiction that undermines the family, dashes dreams and frays the fabric of society. Thanks for considering."

C'mon, do a writeup like the old Sparky song and there've got to be people who'd throw $20-$50 your way.

The first prosper loan I may go legit and actually consolodate my four credit cards (visa, mastercard, Worst Buy, Circuit Pity) and my charged off checking account. That's like $4500. The other $500 I can put on a lonsghot suicide parlay. If I lose I can make the minumum payments. Subsequent ones I can use for gambling, hookers and vacations.
