Default BP- any health tips?

Supposedly breakfast is the most important meal of the day.
Well for the last 6 months my breakfast has been 2 advils and a large coke before I hit the computer.

As I age I'm finding it increasingly difficult to stay on top of all of the sports that I cover. Instead of knocking another sport off my list every 6-8 months, I've come up with the the brilliant deduction that perhaps if my fitness level increased, I'd be able to do what I've done in the past.

I bought a bowflex a few months back, but it hasn't done jack for me. Maybe I need to plug it in.

I've tried the whey protein powder for shakes but the sugar substitutes don't agree with me at all.
Any quick breakfast ideas? A good protein shake with berries that won't force me to install a work station in my bathroom?

Thanks
HG

if you cant stomach the whey shakes take even a can of the slimfast man or boost or ensure its a perfect ratio meal fortified with vitamins

as we get older breakfast is important that is correct

when I was out of shape I felt like garbage in the morning would wake up have 3 smokes and coke or pepsi or ginger ale whatever was in fridge

then when I started to do the treadmill after a glass of water for 20 minutes thats it have a shower and then a protein concoction for morning I felt waaaayyy better and it just improves every aspect of your life and attitude

we need to take care of our bodies as most of us that gamble have high stress and cortisol levels which will put us in an early grave ...exercise and proper nutrition decrease cortisol

try it man and ya get on that bowflex brother you will thank yourself in even 2 weeks for how you feel

also grab the ONE A DAY vitamins weight smart with green tea ...antioxidants are HUGE help

This is what I have been doing recently after having a similar feeling of regular shittiness developing and I have to say I feel much better and can stay up much longer.

1 cup green tea
1 Multi Vitamin
1 Prilosec
1 Piece whole wheat toast, light butter

About an hour later I drink a slim fast and eat a light lunch about 3 hours after that and I am good until dinner

FYI HG I looked into the Bowflex and went to the Bodybuilding forums for some advice and pretty much everyone over there said that they suck balls. Everyone with the exception of some morons told me to just get some dumbbells. Here is a routine I have been doing, takes me about an hour each day Bodybuilding.com - Rudy Sleiman - Total Body Training With Only A Pair Of Dumbbells.

i got in the habit of walkin the dog around the block instead of just letting the fucker out back in the mornings. i just grab a bottle water and down a multi vit. and off we go for about 30 min. then i try to eat some decent cereal and pound some ensure (the shit actually taste pretty good somedays)

you will be amazed how much better you feel after only a week. not quite as tired all day and can hit the gym for a few min. a couple times a week. mainly cus of that good walk.

one thing though, always hit the vitamins and shit when you get up and movin. if you wait till late in the day or after dinner, they can keep you up cus they are loaded with b12 and other vits/mins. also dont drink any carbonated or caffeine before your workouts. they can have a negative effect on your energy levels. this really sux for me cus i am a so addicted to sweet tea

HG - Have a kid, you'll be running around so much you won't have time to think about your non functioning bowflex...

DG- I couldn't do what I do now if I had a kid- no chance.
I have 3 dogs and I walk each of them everyday as well as playing with them in the backyard for at least 45 min/day.

My main problem is I really like to drink coke. My body doesn't tolerate the fake sugar so diet drinks are out. I've tried a bunch of different teas but I'm not a fan of any of them. I've switched from coke to lipton's green tea ice tea recently, but that's still loaded with carbs.
The late night peanut butter sandwiches certainly aren't helping either, but am I going to cook a meal at 2 am? No sir.

I was always within the same 3-4 pound range until we renovated our kitchen (down to studs) several months ago. So for 6 weeks my wife and I ate out every single night. Of course she couldn't put on weight if she ate haagen daas 24-7 but I put on 15 pounds that are not coming off.

I have to get on the computer as soon as I get up and I don't turn it off until 3:30-4 am at the earliest so it's going to be a struggle to lose the 15.

I still go out for dinner at least 5 nights/week and unless I trim that to 2-3 I doubt very much that I'll be able to do it.

Thanks for the tips guys.

Maybe I'll hire a hot personal trainer to come over and set up a bowflex routine. I'm sure my wife will love that.

Default My take on it/two bits

Everyone does different stuff,.....some responsible,....some not.

Myself,......I drink arse-loads of water. Minimum 80 ounces a day sometimes twice that. (May sound crazy, but I look a little younger than I really am,.....which tells me it may help).

A little coffee in the A.M. (has some anti-oxidants - green tea has way more)

I try to have a decent breakfast (I agree that eggs and their protein are very good thing)

Then the multi-vitamin, an additional vitamin E, and a ginko biloba (120 milligrams) which enhances circulatory capacity throughout one's organism as it thins the blood. Ginko Biloba can be Googled, and you will find nothing negative about it. The Chinese have been using it for 2000+ years.

Balanced diet is key.

Various small meals daily 5-6, to keep your metabolism moving.

Starvation diets are for idiots. IMHO

peace,

Dewitt22

FACT.....Exercise makes me feel 150% better 24 hours a day than when I am not exercising. 30 minutes cardio a day, 3 to 4 times a week, makes all the difference in the world. I can't imagine life without it.

i think thats the key really.. drinking as much water as you can.

i used to climb stairs when i worked at the hospital....drank probably a gallon of water each day by about 5pm, and every hour, i would climb the 9 flights of stairs... got me in fantastic shape for awhile.

ever since i left there though, i have really gone downhill...lol

I am back to drinking tons of water every day now, and try to drink 16 to 32oz right before going to bed at night, so as to flash my system out, and after just a few weeks of doing that again, i can already feel a big difference.

now if i can just find some excersize regimen again, i'll be set.....but, can;t find anything i can do here in the house, that keeps me interested, and i just can;t bring myself to buy a friggin stair-master.
