A poker tournament was busted by police late Thursday night. Authorities say the tournament was illegal because there was a prize involved -- a trip to the World Poker Tournament in Las Vegas.

The crackdown happened at the American Legion Post #399 on West Southcross.

The organizer says he was unfairly targeted because he tried to get city approval for the tournament, but never got a response.

"No one called. Tonight the sergeant came by. He said the vice commander didn't have my phone number," said Henry Garcia, the post's commander. "My phone number is in the ad. Everybody has it."

Garcia also says he thinks his tournament was targeted because he has connections with World Poker Champion Richard Lee of San Antonio. Lee was recently the focus of a police gambling investigation. Police seized his assets and froze his bank accounts.
