Default Warriors hit by flu bug

Warriors hit by flu bug
Tue, May 8, 2007By staff

The Utah Jazz are not the only foe the Golden State Warriors are battling these days. The Warriors are fighting a flu bug running through their locker room. Two starting players are feeling under the weather.

Team physician Dr. Bob Albo told the Contra Costa Times before the tip off in Game 1 that Baron Davis was fighting off a cold. The Warriors point guard finished the game with 24 points and 7 assists, but wasn’t able to slow down Jazz point guard Deron Williams from registering a game-high 31 points.

Small forward Matt Barnes is also complaining of cold symptoms. He didn't feel well on Sunday and he’s not sure if he’s feeling any better since.

“It’s going,” Barnes told the San Francisco Chronicle when asked how his cold was coming along. “Can’t breathe, coughing everything up, but I’ll be alright.”

Barnes finished Monday’s game with 20 points and 10 rebounds in 43 minutes of action.

Golden State and Utah play Game 2 on Wednesday. Oddsmakers have the Jazz listed as 3-point favorites with the total set at 212 ˝.

Nice info, I all ready took the under. Sloan said his team won't be able to keep up with the warriors running all day, eventually the warriors will beat them at that.
