Default Forbes list of Gambling Gurus: Who from the board should be on the list?

Forbes magazine just came out with a list of Gambling Gurus (posted on the front page of MW) . . . My partner RJ was the only sports bettor on the list, and they gave our site a nice little free plug which is nice, but it also gave us an idea. There are people on the main industry boards that are very sharp and many obviously do this for a living. If you could pick one of two people from this site, who would you say are the sharpest of the sharp? No one has ever really looked over the landscape of all these boards and sites and said who are the leaders when it comes to knowing their "shit".

We are in charge of the sports gambling content for About.com (owned by the NY Times and has a Nielson rank of 8th most visited site in the world). RJ (he's the Sports Gambling Guide there) is going to write a feature on gambling forums and put together our own little Forbes-type list of 7 Sports Betting Forum Gurus. The end result will be a list of industry posters chosen by their peers and why they were picked. The poster will have to let us know what forum they call home so we can properly credit (link) and reference the appropriate site. So besides getting props at About.com, the posters home board will also get a free plug.

Tons of sites have matchups, lines and crazy databases, but at the end of the day it is the posters who make the difference for any site. That is the case at my site, and that is the case here & at other leading industry sites.

This thread starts the nominations for the posters you feel should be nominated from Major Wager . . . Who is king when it comes to knowledge about this business and why? I am doing the same at other leading boards, and from the nominations at each forum will come one overall list of the 7 Sports Betting Forum Gurus .

Who from Major Wager should be given their props?

I don't see it either. Johnny, please provide link. Interesting that Forbes would go this route, but timing a bit unforunate.

sage advice from the lead:

Stick to your system, find games with the highest payouts and go for a barrage of singles rather than the home run. And learn how to take your losses without panicking.

I don't gamble in casinos, but the article seemed to bit lame to me aside from some money management advice, i.e., don't wager the whole bankroll on Sacramento State trying to get even for the day. Did that once and didn't get even.

I think one of the terms one friend offshore said while I entertained at a titty bar here in Detroit was "those scalping, middling, bonus whore cock suckers..."

You know which way line will move, you'll be hard-pressed to lose.

Nothing wrong with that.

I don't think that's all we have from here, but I'm not sure who, if anyone, would want to be highlighted as a sports gambling guru, given the current climate of the industry. Unless maybe they are from Vegas..
