Default ** Read this and protect yourself ** Neteller must do's.

Most of you know I own my site albeit much smaller than MW.

I have been able to get e-mails answered and speak with the folks at NETeller today, and I urge all of you to do the following steps.

1. Change your NT password.

2. Have NT change your secure ID. Keep track of who you use it with, if you can still use NT.

3. If you can't use your account, and have your checking account info on file, have NT remove it from your account.

4. If you have any issues, you can e-mail NT at VIP@neteller.com
The phone number you can call is 1-877-288-4545

5. I would change the password to your e-mail account as well.

Whatever you do, don't yell at the NT representative that answers the phone. Remember they are only an employee and they can't give you your money.

These are trying times for all of us, and the best thing to do is be calm, and do the steps listed abovew to protect yourself, and make sure the idiots that stole, hacked, inside job, whatever can't get YOUR money.

I hope this helps, and look, I don't post anywhere else but my place and here. There is a reason for it. I was the first to post here, heck I did it before the place was open. HA HA, but seriously, I am trying to help here, and do all I can to keep your money safe until you can get it.

Thanks Freak. Since I managed to transfer what I had left in neteller to a Canadian friend between hits from the scammers, I assume I am safe, as I am unlikely to have another cent in my neteller account. I sent an email a few days ago asking them to change my secure id, if it was possible for the scammers to access my banking info. They replied with a phone number saying I would need to call them to do that. I haven't called yet. Is it really necessary?

Minnow if you call the number I provided you should get in very quickly. Just don't hit any prompts. They will do this for you after verifying you.

I suggest you and everyone else does it.

btw, I mentioned the 10bet debit entry to the guy handling the cancellation of my $497 pending eft on January 16th, and he said something that made me think "let it go", as my primary reason for the phone call was to get the pending canceled, which he accomplished for me.

The phonecall lasted a long time - 10-15 minutes. I mentioned something about the 10bets debit entry on my transactions page during a long period of holding (he was still on the line but we were waiting while "he looked for someone who might be able to cancel this right now, as opposed to me calling back on Monday" and I got this "slightly annoyed" vibe, like I was distracting him from his trying to help with the pending transaction, so I backed off.

Ok, I called and got through quickly.. VIP line.. lol Thanks again Freak. I asked if I should worry about the 10bet scammers being able to access my bank account info, and he said he wouldn't worry too much about that. Obviously he wouldn't worry about it too much as neteller never did feel obliged to let any of us know that our account information had been compromised to begin with.

Oh well, at least I got the secure id changed. I would really rather not cancel my checking account that was associated with my nt account.. what would I tell the bank?

Am I over-reacting here?

You aren't cancelling the checking account with your bank. You are having NT remove your checking info off their system. This way you won't have any unauthorized Insta Cash Debits.

Better to be safe than sorry.

I am a VIP Member with NT since I have done what seems like millions of transactions. I guess I won't be able to use my 600 million points either.

: )

I sent an email to Neteller using the vip@neteller.com, to inquire about my missing $1000 on my debit card. So much for the quick reply, im waiting more then 24 hours for a reply. Im now resigned to the fact that Neteller is going to pull the greatest stiff job of all time.

Freak, I just wasn't sure if the information the scammers had from before I changed my secure id would in any way allow access to the checking account I had associated with NT. I wouldn't think so, since my password wasn't part of the package deal the scammers received when they (I assume) purchased the databases of customer info that they are using for this scam.

All I asked was that they change my secure id.. I hope they automatically removed my banking info as well.

Minnow they won't automatically remove it, you have to call them to get it done, then they will send you an e-mail.

I done this back on Feb 1st. Should I still call, because I figured if I closed the account no one could access use information? All my funds are out by the way.

Thanks

Doc

Just logged into my empty Neteller account for the first time in a while. There had been three unsuccessful attempts for a $10 transaction in the last couple of weeks. All were by 10bet.

Thank you, FREAK. I just followed your steps and got my info changed in less than 5 minutes. I'm e-mailing several friends and forwarding your great advice to them. We all appreciate this.

By the way, between my own Neteller account and money I have in the accounts of three others, I have nearly $100,000 being held hostage. I had a lot to lose from these hackers.
