Well there are just so many different flavors now. Growing up there was just Smirnoff and Stoli and maybe a few more.

Russian vodka smells like windshield wiper fluid. It probably tastes the same too.

Finlandia is by far the best vodka if you're looking for something smooth and clean.

And if you're really into vodka, you need to try Zubrowka (there should be a long, thin piece of grass inside it) which you are only supposed to drink with apple juice. Top notch.

Doc, it adds to the authenticity, and it gives Zubrowka vodka a slight whisky-like tint. You're meant to drink it with apple juice, as that's what it tastes best with. Even in Great Britain it's become the classic drink of choice for all the stock brokers and "city" folk. It's definitely the #1 vodka if you really are a vodka fan.

Johny, I agree 100%. Chopin and Belvedere are top-shelf.

P.S. You travel to Poland often?

Poland I would guess has the best vodka, afterall all grade A vodkas use polish rye + >3 times distilled.

it's crazy how vodka has evolved.

the liquor store i do my shopping at, has an entire wall of nothing but vodka and gin now..

used to be, vodka was like, 2 shelves max.

now, there are all these lime and lemon and meat and cheese flavored damn bottles, and all i want is some plain ass vodka to mix into some 'health' mix of shit the wife keeps wanting to force down my throat, after some asshat gave us some new Jack LaLanne juice machine.

tried rum with it, but, when she adds grapes and apples and potatos, rum makes it taste like bowl cleaner.

plain ass vodka works fine, but, damn it man, i don't need all the citrus shit added, since thats what i'm dumping it into.

you actually have to go alllllll the way to the end of the store, and scan the bottom shelf, for plain, old fashioned Mccormick or Smirnoff vodka.



guess it doesn't matter really.. the juice still tastes like shit.
