| Link 15.01.07 - By Craig Parrish: It has been reported by The Arizona Republic that according to Randy Lang, a Glendale attorney, former WBO heavyweight champion Tommy Morrison, now 38-years old, has tested negative for HIV and the results of the test have been submitted to an expert appointed by the Arizona State Boxing Commission. Commission member John Montano witnessed the test and is waiting on a report from the expert. Lang had hoped to have Morrison fight this Friday night in a four-round bout, but has stated that Morrison injured his hand sparring last Saturday and will need to have a x-ray. They will continue to pursue the license in the hopes that Morrison will fight in February, barring serious injury to the hand. Montano has also stipulated that due to his age, he will also need to see Morrison spar before any sort of consideration can be made for a license. Morrison has not fought in ten years after testing positive for HIV, which he is now claiming was a false-positive. Morrison has had many troubling incidents outside the ring, including prison time. His professional record is 46-3-1.

| Rocky has his licence back, and if Morrison would get his, they could settle their differences ,once and for all, in the ring this time

| Correct me if I am wrong, but if you test positive for HIV - isn't that the type of thing you might want to test I dunno.......maybe once more or so......just to be sure you weren't having an off day?

| Morrison delays comeback attempt Norm Frauenheim The Arizona Republic Jan. 15, 2007 12:00 AM Tommy Morrison suffered a hand injury that will postpone his attempt to acquire a license for his first fight in the United States since a positive HIV test, according to his attorney, who wanted the former heavyweight champ to appear in a four-round bout Friday at Dodge Theatre. Randy Lang said Morrison, who underwent a battery of blood tests nearly two weeks ago, hurt his left hand in training Saturday at trainer Michael Munoz's gym in north Phoenix. "The doctor will not let him fight," said Lang, a Glendale lawyer who late last week turned over the bloodwork results to John Montano of the Arizona State Boxing Commission. Morrison is expected to undergo X-rays Tuesday to determine if the hand is broken. Lang said the ex-World Boxing Organization champion hopes to fight in February. Lang said Morrison, 38, will continue to seek an Arizona license. Lang said Morrison, who tested positive for HIV more than 10 years ago in Las Vegas, tested negative at a Phoenix lab. Montano, who witnessed the last Phoenix test, said he turned over results to a commission-appointed expert. Montano said Sunday that he was waiting on the expert's report. Montano said he has yet to watch Morrison spar. He also said he had yet to schedule a meeting at which the commission would rule on Morrison's application. "It's a moot point now," Montano said. As it was, there was little time for Morrison to complete the application process before Friday's Top Rank-promoted card, which will be televised by Showtime. "It would have been very, very difficult," Montano said. Morrison appeared in advertising Sunday. No opponent is mentioned, but Morrison's photo is there, next to him saying: "I'm back." At the bottom of the ad, it says all bouts are subject to change without notice. Montano said Top Rank's Phoenix promoter, Peter McKinn, will be asked to announce in the media and on Web sites that Morrison will not fight.

| Manzerek is still good. Best part of their show is "Light my Fire" with background. The joint is loaded with eligibe girls/women. Also CTG, the hotel is as close to a brothel as you can get in Clark County. The legal ones are in Nye and I think Lincoln counties. |

| 'update', of sorts. CNN-SI Tommy Morrison cleared for return to ring Quote:
i don't know what to believe really.. i seriously doubt there was any 'mis-diagnosis' though. |
| |||
| I don't know man. I've heard mis-diagnosis can happen, with HIV as well as other serious illness. You figure the labs that conduct these tests can't have 100% accuracy all the time. Mixed up samples, contaminated samples, human errors. Good buddy of mine, went to a community college for 2 years for medical stuff. Ended up doing similar lab work. He told me it happens, they call it a false-positive or some crap in the medical world. |
