Default Talk about a load of crap: Presidents Cup

They travel half way around the world, play golf for a weekend like it life or death, then declare the match a draw because nobody wants to play anymore.

I don't care if they are out there with flashlights getting attacked by bushmen, FINISH THE GODDAMN MATCH!

i've got an answer...

have each player take turns putting from 2 feet away from the hole. first one to miss...team loses.

thats how they settle world cup soccer matches... why not?

Seriously, I did not care what the rules were, but something could have been worked out.

Hell, give Tiger and Ernie a club and they could fence for the Cup - first man to knock out an opponents tooth wins.

But now they get to share it, isn't that special. I gives me a nice warm cuddly feeling to know that 28 men on two teams have absolutely no competitive spirit.

The real question is why did Ernie and Tiger (not that it wasn't extremely entertaining and suspenseful, and it makes me think that BuckSwope would complain if his wife looked like Charlise Theron) even start a playoff? I know because that's the rule but my point is that the President's Cup was started to give the rest of the world, other than Europe, a chance to challenge the USA in a competition modeled after the very successful Ryder Cup. But then the PC changed the rules; in RC competition, in the event of a team tie, the cup stays with whomever had won the cup last; but for some reason the PC initiated this sudden death playoff rule. I mean I can see the necessity of such a rule in the first match of the PC, but after the Cup has been won by one team or the other, then that team retains the Cup in the event of a tie.

i happen to think that, given the circumstances (light fading and no one wanting to come back the next day) that the decision to "share" the cup was one of the better examples of sportsmanship we have seen in the last 30 years. A whole bunch of young athletes in all four major leagues could take note of this.

I'd give'em both (Nicklaus and Player) SI sportsmen of the year just for this.

Either that or they shoud have had Jack and Gary themselves go out and play 36 on Monday to decide it.

Yes most people that play gold are pussies and the PGA tour has the highest gay rate out of any sport.

Golfers are too rich now and winning does not mean much anymore
