Default Next time you're in Vegas, be aware of the Blackjack games

6 to 5 blackjack is infesting the Strip like the plague. To sum up the difference between true single deck (paying 3 to 2 on BJ) and 6 to 5 single deck, the difference is an 800% higher house edge on 6:5.

If we all avoid this shit, it will go away. Caesars has already pulled their 6:5 games off the floor.

Check this story for the details.

Las Vegas Sun story on 6 to 5 blackjack

Avoid the Rio at all costs. It deals the WORST blackjack in the WORLD. Even money payout for blackjacks, double on 10/11 only, and H17! 2.77% house edge. They offer pathetic video poker and their slots pay very poor too:

Corporate Greed knows no boundaries. What is sad is that suckers are still playing at these ripoff tables. If they only knew how bad they were getting scammed the tourists would'nt go near these 6-5 BJ paying tables.

I was wondering where the wizardofodds site went...I had it bookmarked and when I went to check last month, it didn't come up. Glad to see it's still around.

The Wizard sold his original site : www.THEwizardofodds.com to an online casino.

It is now :
The Real Wizard of Odds website

Michael's site is one of the best free resources for gambling information on the 'net. If you're relatively new to the casino gaming world, it's well worth spending some time there....

Hockeystl,

I checked out the Rio last month and found a couple of good machines. They have a $1 8-5 bonus poker progressive and they had a $5 9-6 jacks or better progressive. Unfortunately I heard they don't offer any cash back though.

$1 8/5 bonus will be a net loser of about $30 per hour at progressive reset of $4K. This also assumes 100% perfect strategy. The progressive must hit $6000 to become a playable (100%+) game - again when playing perfect strategy.

I have not seen the $5 9/6 JB progressive you refer to. Still, it must hit $24K to be a break even game.

The Rio offers cash back of a paltry ~.08%. The average for major Strip casinos is .33%. To add insult to injury, you cannot collect your cashback sameday. You must wait for them to mail you the cashback on a postcard and you must cash on a seperate trip. Comps at the Rio are ~.22% with their new Total scRewards II system. Comps average .33% for major Strip casinos.

Simply stated, the Rio is a poor gamble. Quite possibly the worst in all of Vegas.

Not only are *certain* online casinos 100% reputable and fair, they are 100% better than a lot of offline casinos. Why is it that I have won over five dimes this year with suicide blackjack? I also came within a few hands and/or payouts from possible going all the way.

Whatever. Believe that all online casinos are rigged. I'll just keep playing and winning...

and that in itself (DD's theory) is the reason to stay the hell away from ANY on-line casino gaming.

Wow, I guess they need more of their customers money. I am very dissapointed in this new rule and in the Vegas casinos who impose it!

Saw one of those 6/5 BJ tables at Circus Circus last time I was in Vegas awhile back which was the first time in over 2 years. The dealer gave me the old payout but was I taken aback. Then I read here Rio is paying even money on Blackjack!!?? Unf*ckingreal.

My last trip to Vegas MGM grand was paying even $$ BJ. That was a one deck game dealt out of hand.
I played it because I was ripped and wealthy.

sportman, it's very likely that game was a Super Fun 21 table. This game isn't nearly as bad as 6:5 and can actually be beaten with large bet spreads. Base house edge is .94%. There are numerous rule variations involving double downs and surrender that are advantageous to the player. These rule changes cancel out some of the house edge that is gained by only paying even money on BJ's.

Unless there's been a change in the past 2 weeks, there are only 2 casinos dealing even money blackjack in LV : Poker Palace and the Rio.

<< and that in itself (DD's theory) is the reason to stay the hell away from ANY on-line casino gaming. >>

You read but you don't understand. You hear but you don't listen. I cleared over $5000 in profits from suicide BJ. That's a low estimate. Probably much higher. I did this without ever pushing it to the max. These were on suicide pump and dump, hit and runs.

Next year I am going to resolve not to try to set up parlays with BJ but to treat each separately. I would be surprised if I didn't hve at least one five figure payout and clear at least $25,000. I always play the max and my success rate for each session is over 70%.

These are facts. If that's rigged then I hope they rig it some more!
