John Madden Needs to call it a Career

John Madden is starting to lose it. Al Micheals has his head up his ass too. Late 2nd qtr, Chi attempting a FG after the incomplete pass, GB calls a timeout to freeze the kicker. After the made FG, Chi kicks off and Madden starts talking about how it was a "good thing GB called TO to save them time on the clock" Madden has forgotten that the clock stops on an incomplete pass. I was thinking AL will correct the senile coach but he says, "yeah it saved the Packers about 30 seconds on the clock. Unbelieveable! Getting paid millions to showcase your senility.

Only a few years ago (5 or 6 maybe?) Madden was the best around. 'Twas a fast slide...

Agree...At this point in his career, Madden just needs to spend his time working on his Turducken recipes and leave the booth work to others...

Madden is fine, he at least compares favoably to Chris "I'm a moron" Collingsworth or Phil "self important" Sims. I would say though that the current play by play guys in football are better than the analysts -- who are generally a bunch of ex jock or coach idiots that fit well into Howard Cosell's comments about these non qualified poor communicaters.

The formula for success on MNF has always been three In the tree. Madden Is cooked,but AL does a good job,I always try to figure out who he's got,and appreciate his gaming references regarding totals late In the game.Unfortunatley on blowouts like last night you need a guy like Miller to keep It going,unfortunatley His brand was a tad highbrow.They should try to get him back for next season,but he will probably be busy campaigning for Cali Senator with Govenor Shwarzenegger.I would suggest a proper 04 ratings line up would be Al,Don,Dan( Fouts),with O.J. and Melissa roving-

ABC will never do it but they should put a Howard Cosell impersonator in the booth. "Look at that monkey go". They have to put someone who is controversial to get people to watch. Miller was a bore.

I liked it after the Bears recovered the onsides kick, brilliant Madden said what they need to do is score again quickly and go for another onside. Okay, John. Even Michaels is acting stupid now. He lamented he doesn't like the fact you can't see players' faces in hockey because of their helmets. Hello? And I suppose in football that is not a problem.

This is why I have been so upset losing all these fav and OVERS the past year. I had to listen to this crap every week as my bets went down the drain.

Thats the same thing I was thinking Dell when idiot Al starts talking about why hockey is not popular because the players wear helmets. What the hell does he think the NFL players wear? And then he says there is Paul Coffey and Bobby Hull on the GB sideline. Hey Al, the name is Brett Hull and its not Paul Coffey, its Hull's agent you idiot. Now we have to suffer through Al during NBA games. God help us.

I still like Al. I blame it all on Madden. He has to talk down to his level. You put two strong, entertaining personalities in there, he would do fine.
