Default Partially hydrogenated oils !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

FOLKS, I CANNOT STRESS ENOUGH STAYING AWAY FROM THIS STUFF AND MOST OF YOU ARE NOT LISTENING!!!!!! IT IS IN A HIGH PERCENTAGE OF PROCESSESD FOODS....ESPECIALLY A LOT OF FROZEN DINNERS THAT PEOPLE HAVE BEEN MENTIONING.

This oil is a double sword whammy to overall good health. It is what is refered to as a TRANS FATTY FAT. IT WILL NOT SHOW UP AS CHOLESTEROL OR SATURATED FAT ON YOUR FOOD LABELS!!!!!!!!!!!
The FDA is working on adding it very soon however. I have preached to people for 10 years about this nightmare oil that is bad for your heart and may be a major contributor to cancer. When your cells breakdown and need repaired, you want GOOD oils to help you do this......by letting this oil concentrate on your cells ......may cause you cells to become cancer ridden. This oil will also lead to severe heart valve cloggage. Please do yourselves all a favor and read up on this!!!!!! It is in 85% of processed bread.......so try and eat only GOOD WHOLESOME BREAD..........check your bread labels. Choose the ones made without it and preferably with olive oil. OLIVE OIL is a gift from God..........look for it!!!!

Thanks Fish,
I used to be way up on this a few yrs ago- its a good reminder since we all slip back.
Extra VIRGIN olive oil- yes
I also use sesame oil whever I can- thats good also from my memory(is it not?)
Both of these are 10x cost on ordinary oils but go for it I say.

Thanks Dennis..........grapeseed oil is great for high temperture cooking and you will pay a pretty penny for it too. Remember, olive oil for low temps and grapeseed for higher. Stay healthy buddy and good luck on you financial matters.

Fish, thanks for the post.

Does olive oil's structure change significantly at higher temps? I use olive oil a lot in pasta sauces.

Never tried or heard of the grapeseed oil, but will keep an eye out.

Would suggest not cooking with olive oil above medium heat.....slow cooking is better anyways.

To answer your question, yes.

Marinara sauce with olive oil is a very healthy treat.
