Default 'DIDDY' WANTS TO BUY KNICKS

July 23, 2003 -- Sean "P. Diddy" Combs hopes to take a shot at being a hoops honcho - the hip-hop mogul wants to buy the New York Knicks.
"I'm trying to buy 'em," he said yesterday on the Howard Stern show. "I think I could do an excellent job with the organization."

"I'm publicly putting it out there, but they're not taking my calls," he said.

The Knicks are owned by Cablevision, whose other holdings include Madison Square Garden, the Rangers, the Liberty and Radio City Entertainment. Joe Favorito, a Knicks spokesman, asked about Combs' wish to put in a bid for the team, said "we're not going to comment on it." When Stern asked how much money it would take, Combs replied: "Whatever amount of money I need to raise."

Though he was short on specifics, Combs said he'd make the Knicks better.

What a joke, Cablevision isn't going to sell the Knicks or any other of there holdings. P Diddy all ego, this guy has no clue about how to run a team + he doesn't have the $$$ to buy them.

How he would make them better

Lets see

Jay Z at PG , heck Beyoncé will draw a bigger crowd the Jay Z

Snoop Dog at Center (as we all know he is a High Flyer)

Master P - SG still thinks he can play in the NBA

Shug Knight or 50 Cent at PW - as they could be the Knicks enforcers

P-Diddy could play Small forward as J-Lo could testify too

Chris, P. Diddy is worth several hundred million and I am sure he and a few of the other rap moguls could raise enough money to buy the Knicks if they wanted to. Hell, every street crack dealer in American would donate at least a days pay to own a piece of the NY Kicks. To bad Sprewell is gone or he could have been one of the Spokesman. Maybe he can get Stoudermier or Wallace to become Knicks to assist in his fund rasing venture.

Sure he could and do you think David Stern would allow this. Jack Dolan isn't selling the Knicks for any price. Cablevision makes P Diddy look poor

Who knows what Stern will allow, he has allowed the NBA to be full of gang banging, corn-rolled, tattoed up pot heads, perjurers and felons. But you are right Dolan would never sell.

After this Kobe deal, Stern has to realize he has a major problem with his product

"P Diddy all ego, this guy has no clue about how to run a team"

Neither does Scott Layden.

This team could not be run any worse than it has been for the last two years.

Shandon Anderson
Othella Harrington
Howard Eisley
Michael Doleac
Clarence Weatherspoon
Lee Nailon

And now legendary soft boy Keith Van Horn.

And Chaney. Great Assistant Coach, Horrible Head Coach.

Scott Layden is quite possibly the worst GM in the history of sports (aside from Dan Duquette).

I think Elgin(the Teflon GM) Baylor retired THAT trophy long, long ago.

Reason Maciej Lampe dropped is someone spread a rumor that his buyout would be costly and never happen. Last guy to drop into 2nd round like this was Rashard Lewis and he turned out very well
