| They mentioned that there are only 2 players in the Hall of Fame who played with 9 teams, obviously there will be three...maybe 10 years from now, who knows. I never liked him, but you gotta give the Devil his due... |

| whats not to like about rickey? A whole heck of a lot. It is unquestionable he is the best leadoff hitter of all time, however, his ego is gigantic, holding up the base and proclaiming I am the greatest ever, was a bit much. He has also had a sorted history in the clubhouse. He was supposedly playing cards with bobby bonilla at one point in time. However he claims he wasnt and then in the same interview couldnt even get Octavio Dotell's name right. He kept on calling him Dotee. I think there is plenty not to like about rickey from a personality standpoint, but on the field, he is the man

| Adding to the things that mjh218 said, he sometimes took entire seasons off when he was on a club that he didn't deem worthy of being on, or wasn't paying him what he thought was proper. This brought about one of his many quotes that rivaled Yogi Berra and Mickey Rivers: "All I'm asking for, is what I want." Who can argue with logic like that? | Ricky is one of a kind, when a reporter was talking about Olerud and talked about him wearing a batting helmet when playing in the field, Ricky said, I used to have a guy on my team who did the same thing. The reporter told Ricky, Olerud was on your team for a year or two. |
