| The Jewel story is incredible. An ex-buddy of mine actually managed Jewel when she was first starting out in San Diego, singing in small local joints. But the hippy-like idiot dropped the ball, and the rest is history. Last I heard, he still had some of her guitars, and even though he barely makes a living as as spaced-out computer consultant, he was planning on giving them back to Jewel, who certainly doesn't need them nor the money they'd fetch. Now, it looks like the muzak industry wants to turn Jewel into a sex symbol. Does anyone wonder why I don't even own a TV? I am at war with popular culture. I HATE the mindless fads and disgusting muzak foisted upon Amerikka and the world by the Machine. |

| Reno: Your "bud" must be sick. She has arrived and he would be rich. Would've, Could've, Should've... Now please...go buy a nice big-screen TV. A replay of the DIVA'S live will be on again soon. Only white girl considered a diva this year...you got it..the magnificent "JEWEL" |

| I saw some of the new "Britney-influenced" Jewel. What the hell happened? Does she still yodel? A friend of mine is the manager of a restaurant here in San Diego and a couple of years ago he was telling me about Jewel coming in with her "trucker brother". He was saying that the dude she was with looked like some sort of "trucker redneck" and that he must be related to her. Turns out the dude was her husband, Ty Murray, who is a big-time Bullrider and worth 8 figures. Never judge a book by its cover. |

| comparable to reno's friend with jewel... one of my best friends is a music agent. he books rock bands, and has had a lot of success in the field. back around 88-89, this guy named jon fishman kept calling and calling him asking him to book them. it was not my friends cup of tea, and he passed. time after time he politely told mr. fishman that it was not his thing. well...the year before their hiatus, phish grossed $72 million touring, and the agent gets 10% of the gross
