Default Jets DT Tests Positive for Pot

Jets DT Tests Positive for Pot

By Associated Press

May 30, 2003

NEW YORK -- New York Jets defensive tackle Josh Evans tested positive for marijuana and could be suspended again by the league, The New York Times reported Friday.

"I didn't smoke, I didn't use marijuana in no type of way," Evans told the newspaper.

The NFL declined comment Friday to The Associated Press, saying it does not confirm substance-abuse violations. But it restated its policy that a violation in this instance could result in an indefinite suspension.

The Times, citing three people familiar with the results of the NFL-administered test, said Evans has appealed. The league would not confirm that.

Evans has been suspended twice by the league for violating its substance-abuse policy. He missed the first four games in 1999 and was suspended for all of the 2000 season.

If Evans is disciplined again, the suspension would be indefinite, with the length determined by commissioner Paul Tagliabue based on information provided by doctors.

Evans, who joined the Jets last season after six years with Tennessee, is tested up to 10 times a month. He signed with the Jets last July, two weeks after winning an appeal to have his third substance-abuse suspension overturned.

Dale Carter of the New Orleans Saints was suspended indefinitely for violating the substance-abuse policy last July and then reinstated in November.

This shit is making me real tired of the NFL.

It's non-stop gun charges, drug charges, drinking and driving.

Some of these guys are real idiots. I hope the next time one of them decides to drive drunk they drive right off a cliff

"I didn't smoke, I didn't use marijuana in no type of way".

That is classic.

I didn't smoke it in the car.
I didn't smoke it near or far.

I didn't smoke it in the rain.
I didn't smoke or use cocaine.

Viagra is more dangerous than pot. When Iwas in TJ, I ate a whole Viagra pill--100 mg--with some booze, and I ended up geting terrible muscular contractions in my lower back and legs for 3 full days. I then saw a natural healer in San Diego, and he told me my liver was in bad shape from too much alcohol and ice cream, and that was why I had had the bad reaction to the Viagra. I haven't eaten any ice cream or drank any booze since I saw the healer.
