AUSTIN, Texas -- Four Texas football players were arrested after police found a small amount of marijuana in the car they were riding in.
Running back Selvin Young, defensive back Edorian McCullough, linebacker Aaron Harris and defensive lineman Larry Dibbles were stopped by the Brazos Valley Narcotics Task Force on May 1. Police found less than 2 ounces of marijuana in the car during a traffic stop.
Each player, all in their sophomore years, was released after posting $1,500 bond.
In a statement released Friday, coach Mack Brown said he would look into the matter and the team will deal with the matter privately once the legal issues are resolved.
"We're disappointed any time one of our players is accused of wrongdoing," Brown said. "We have a great group of guys and we will thoroughly investigate this situation."
Young rushed for 427 yards and five touchdowns last season as Cedric Benson's backup, and also returned a punt for a score.
