The Braves hadn't hit three straight homers since last June 11, when Andruw Jones, Vinny Castilla and Matt Franco did it at Minnesota.

It was about the double play they got in the 8th with bases loaded!

That Ramon Hernandez needs to take a course on where the strike zone is!

They need to put in Smoltz more even if it is the start of 8th inning.

Dr. Chau,

I think Bobby will be forced to do that a lot more this year.

A few reasons are...Smoltz has a full year under his belt as the closer, is a year further along from his surgery, and the loss of Remlinger, Hammond, and Spooney.

Still think the braves are ovre rated. They are giving -170 agasint the Fish, even though they are playing extremely poor. Atlanta's days have passed, Maddux is truglging and the rest of their pitching staff is so so at best. their bullpen is actually pretty sorry except for Smoltz! They may have the best hitting outfield in the NL, but the worst hitting infield. Javy, Fick, Furcal, Castilla.....yuk!!

I had them -1.5 runs +100.

Needless to say I was pissed for the majority of the game and the back to back to back jacks and the double play in the 8th made me feel better.

They both suck!

I think the best hitting outfield in NL will probably be Pitt with Giles, Sanders, and Lofton, but I don't really follow NL as much.

Pitts. does have a good hitting outfield with Giles, certainaly Sanders with the start he has, but Lofton? He has been let go by more teams than times I have changed my underwear! For a 3 year period in the mid 90's he was one of the top, if not the top leadoff men in the game, but his career is a steady decline now....imo

Giles is the most under rated player in the NL! I have been saying this for years

Kenny Lofton is a great lead off hitter and he has some range of defense.

Thanks for starting this thread. I know how to get to majormwager and read the mess hall, but if I wanted to get a score online, I wouldn't have a clue how to get it. I really appreciate you posting the score here.

I'm also glad that you were so excited about the Braves scoring. I'm pretty sure that there was no one here at MW that bet on Florida, so there's no reason to think that anyone would be upset about having to read your cheering for a bet you won.

All in all, a great job by you starting this thread. Great information like this, that can't be found elsewhere, is the reason I try and read the mess hall every day.
