Default Anyone Out There Know The Davis Cup?

I'm looking for a bit of insight to the way this thing is run. By the looks of it, it's a best of 5 type of thing, with head to head matchups for the first two and doubles for the third, and then back to head to head for the 4th and 5th. So, if one of the countries doubles teams wins to go ahead 3-0, do they play the last 2 matchups? Or are they finished with the round?

They do play the remaining two singles, but, since they can't change the outcome of the tie, they are usually played out of three sets instead of out of five sets.

Thanks alec for the quick response, but I'm a bit confused by the above comment. Could you elaborate on that a bit? I'm assuming for betting purposes, if a team goes up 3-0, then that bet would win right?

Yes, of course it will win even if your team loses the remaining singles. I am not sure that I understood your question, if you were asking if a book would grade your bet as a winner right after the doubles match, then I don't know the answer.

You know what alec? The statement you made that I was confused about makes sense now. What I did was fail to recognize the word "set" in the sttatement, thus throwing me off, but after re-reading it, it makes complete sense. Thanks again for the quick response, I appreciate it.

Be careful if you make bets on the game 4 and 5 singles. If a team clinches the win, both teams might use their "bench" for these games to give guys some experience.
