Default Best nickname in sports

The Pilsbury Throw Boy = Jared Lorenzen

I heard this yesterday, I thought it was hilarious. What's your favorite?

Not a nickname, but the greatest sports name of all time has got to be former Iowa Hawkeye and Detroit Lion Chuck Long. There could be no better name for a quarterback ...

I have a lot of favorites.. Right of the top of my head "Downtown Freddy Brown". Also, always got a kick out of "Johnny "Bump City" Bumphus". It was in his honor that I nicknamed my (baby) daughter "Poop City Poopus". I had forgotten all about that.. lol

I just did a search for Blyleven, because i wasn't sure how to spell it, and found a list of some other Bermanisms.

Alan "Have Gun will" Trammel
Bert "Be home" Blyleven
Bruce "2 minutes for" Ruffin
Chuck "New Kids On The" Knoblauch
Curt "Devil with the blue" Dressendorfer
Damon "Blue" Berryhill (Gotta respect the Louis Armstrong reference)
Eddie "eat, drink and be" Murray
Fred "Crime Dog" McGriff
Gary Redus "a bedtime story"
Jason Hacombe "be lovers if we can't be friends"
Jim "Two sillouhettes on" DeShaies
Jose "Game-winning" Uribe
Juan "play it again" Samuel
Kent "Buy a vowel" Hrbek
Kirt "What was that" Manwaring
Lance "You sank my" Blankenship
Roberto "Remember The" Alomar
Scott "Supercalifragilisticexpiala" Brosius
Tom "Leave it to" Seaver
Tony Gwynn "and bear it"
